I could write a book about the things this guy has done but instead I will summarize in a short list:

1) Gave me the wrong advice on what other lawyers have called a simple question, resulting in the loss of my license for 1 year.

2) When I tried to fire him he threatened to have my bail bondsman revoke my bail - Saying this is not only illegal, but I have since found out it was a lie.

3) CONSISTENTLY was dropped off at court by his secretary (*AKA his mom*) and looked as though he hadn't bothered to look in a mirror before leaving his house (shirt un-tucked in the back, face not shaved, hair disheveled)

4) Refused to give me a refund and when I asked for a report on the hours he spent working on my case he took the money and ran, never to be heard from again.

This idiot was kicked out of rehab in Santa Monica for using cocaine, and I have since heard from his fed up friends that he was kicked out of his girlfriends apartment for leaving the drug on a table where her 5 year old son almost got into it!

I have yet to file a formal complaint with the California state bar, but REST ASSURED I WILL.

Ken Markman I want my 3500 dollars back you crook.

Thank you to whoever wrote this Ken Markman horror story: /Attorneys-Legal-Services/Ken-Markman-Attorney/ken-markman-attorney-at-law-re-87B98.htm you inspired me to write my own.

I URGE ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN CONNED BY KEN MARKMAN TO FILE A BAR COMPLAINT. You can find instructions on doing so at http://www.calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/DispComp.pdf

If you would like to speak with ken personally and he has shut off the phone you used to contact him on, his phone number is: 310-418-3100 .

For trying to smuggle heroin in to a client in jail.  Here's the story in the L.A. Times:

Phony testimonials?

It does seem fishy that the two satisfactory testimonials occured so closely to one another. Usually I can spot a "dual poster" by similarities in word usage, punctuation, etc. I can't say that these two testimonials are so similar that I would declare shenanigans at this point. But there are some unusual grammatical similarities suggesting that they could be from the same author. A smart lawyer who is beriddled with direct and specific allegations of moral shortcomings will avoid rebutting the allegations here and proceed directly to a defamation suit. So if the testimonials are in fact from the reportee, then the report is probably fairly accurate.

This guy is a deadbeat. Picture a used car salesman. This guy is a druggie and a thief. The CA Bar assoc. knows this too but since they are all lawyers they look out for each other.

I find it very interesting that both of those rebuttals came from Los Angeles within ten minutes of each other! Obviously Markman posting under fictitious names. Trust me , I plan on filing a complaint with the bar as soon as I find the time to fill out the paper work - some of us actually work for a living, something you would know little about.

What a crock. If you have a legitimate complaint, you would have already filed with the Bar Association. A lawyer can only do what a lawyer can do. You got yourself into the mess, and now you've got to live with it. You did the crime, now do the time. Seriously now, Ken was absolutely fabulous dealing with my 20 year old's recent dui. Fair and honest. It's not true that you get what you pay for. He was the least expensive that we talked to and he delivered the best promised results. Now, needless to say, my twenty year old is working off the debt. But it was money well spent.

I also used Ken for various and sundry situations I got myself into. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to his advice on more than one occasion. Should have!!!! After spending thousands of dollars chasing the outcome I wanted to have, I had to come back to Ken who had pointed me in the right direction, and been more than fair with his advice. Several tickets and a suspended license landed me in hot water, and I was finally led in the right direction by Ken. Used to blame everyone, now, I guess I can only blame myself!!! Don't know anything about his private life, don't care. Always on time and professional with me, and helped when nobody else seemed to want to.
