Krave Rio Las Vegas Attorney Robert Atkinson Low Life Las Vegas, Nevada
Robert E. Atkinson is the attorney of record for Kelly Murphy, who is about
to open Krave 'Rio at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino. Murphy is
well known in the entertainment and LGBT arena in Las Vegas. What
many don't know, however, are all his club ownership connections
Copa, Boys Lounge, Krave and Drink and Drag are all his. Also, many
don't know that he is a felon, convicted and sentenced to prison for
bank fraud. Nor do most know that he was evicted for non-payment of
rent from two of his venues -- Copa and Boys Lounge. That's why
they're shut down. He has a bit of a track record here. As part of
his conviction and sentencing, Murphy was to pay restitution. He
still has not paid some $75,600 that he owes in restitution. So
Atkinson, his lawyer, is assisting him in these endeavors. Atkinson's
name also was on the eviction order posting on the front door of
Copa.
How does Murphy do all this? Funny you should ask. Atkinson helps Murphy
by doing things like setting up "straw men" so Murphy can
work through them to get things like liquor licenses and lease
agreements, for example. Murphy is unable to legally obtain a liquor
license under Nevada state law because of his past felony
convictions.
Atkinson has his own past-due issues. Atkinson has a federal tax lien filed
against him by the IRS in Washington, DC, which totals almost $50,000
-- $46,227 to be exact. And this is from more than seven years ago.
Hello? IRS? Anyone home? How do you get away with that for seven
years? Atkinson and Murphy make quite the pair, don't you think? And
Murphy is about to open Krave at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino?
You can't make up this stuff.
