Kroger One of the cashiers at Kroger, an older man, was very inconsiderate when a friend and I were checking out. I did not know about the law that states that a minor cannot be with someone over 21 when they buy alcohol. My friend was buying a bottle of wine and I walked up to her when I was done checking out in another line. The cashier bluntly and rudely told me to go away. Denton Texas
I didn't understand and he repeatedly told me to leave and get out and then said I needed to show him my idee. I am a minor. I then understood and walked away but he humiliated me in public and he could have been at least understanding and polite about it. I'm not a dog that he can just shoo away and I'd expect that at a well known store, the staff would not treat their customers with such disrespect. I hope the manager does something about this. I am never shopping at that Kroger again.

There is NOTHING in the TABC code that states anything about the purchase of alcoholic beverages with a minor present. I have been working in grocery industry, restaurant and related food service areas for 20+ years. It is required to check all IDs of persons attempting to purchase alcoholic beverages, one example being if all people in the group are carrying restricted product to purchase at same time at a grocery store.
However, if only one person is making a purchase of an alcoholic beverage/product, then only that person is IDed.
By the commenter's logic, all parents would be required by law to leave their children at home when they go to buy beer and wine.
But, the complainant is correct in being highly offended at his/her treatment by this employee at a store whose motto is "Customer 1st!" That isn't Customer First treatment, nor is it customer service treatment. That is rude and uncalled for treatment.

To "shoo" you away. AND I hope he did not sell the booze to your friend because he could be fired and even more prosecuted if he sold alcohol to anyone that was with a minor and YOU were injured or died because of this. (((rudeness redacted))) I am sure your parents would be suing him and the store if you died because he did not obey the law.
