LA Fitness Dishonest practice, pulls people in by lying Ripoff Diamond Bar California
I have been a member of LA Fitness for over 5 years, and thought that it would be time to change my routine. It just so happens that while working out there, a manager befriended me and said that he had an offer too good to be true, that I should sign up today otherwise I would be foolish. He explained that while there would be an actual workout session with a trainer, he would personally give me 4 free lessons as well. I signed and sure enough, at our first appointment he stood me up. I called him the next day and rescheduled for a workout session the day following that. Once again, he never bothered to show up.
I was fed up and decided to cancel the agreement, which was still doable since it was within 48 hours. When I went in person to do so, they stalled saying that none of their managers were available and that they already left for the day (it was only 8 pm). I forced one of the workers to stand as witness so that I could report it that I tried to quit under 48 hours. When I called back the next day, I spoke to the manager who basically told me that it was too late to cancel, and that the 'witness' wouldn't be valued either.
Realizing that their managers were worthless and I was wasting my time, I called HQ relentlessly, telling me that unless they give me a refund that I was going to quit along with the rest of my family and friends (10 people total). They finally budged, saying they could only issue me a partial refund, which I accepted since it was better than nothing.
Beware of the terrible practices LA fitness staff are trained to do. They hire ex-convicts, trying to befriend you only to make NO guarantees nor to provide any services. NEVER sign any agreement with them!!
