Having joined la weight loss because of the tv ads making it sound so good and cheap, I joined and paid 800.00 dollars plus just to join the program. Telling me at a later date i would be presented another contract to sign for another 800.00 dollars plus to stay on the program using their supplements and food, i refused saying this is a ripoff company and demanded my money back.

THE manager had me sign a refund application and constantly on the phone told us it was being taken care of and then the last conversation we had with her she said the check was in the mail.

I get a phone call today nov.14.2003 asking me if i was still interested in the program i said no that i had joined weight watchers and was losing weight without paying 1500.00 to 2000.00 dollars.

I ask if she was aware that i had written the attorney gernerals office and chanell 9 tv station in charlotte nc complaint dept. Also better business bureau about not getting a refund, she said she had my phone number she was going to call right then and call me back i went up there 20 minutes later and found she had gone to lunch.

so jackie filled out another refund form , faxed it in gave me another copy and gave me a number to call to confirm it was received. i get home call the number, wrong number, i call the center again they give me another number to call 704-262-3775 it was a mrs ward at a concord store but was unavailable and could not tell me how to get in touch with her, that she will get in touch with me.

i am now going to try to take this company to small claims court and see if i can get any results there. the company would not respond to the better business bureau letter. as of yet no response to the attorney generals office, or the wsoc channel 9 complaint, they are all waiting for responses.

I actually just joined LA weight loss this past June. And it is a total rip off. You pay so much money for the bars and the supplements and everything. Than all they do is talk about what you eat and you get weighted every week. Which you can do that yourself. Portioh your food drink water write down what you eat. It is really ridiclous. But tell me because there have been some bars I havent even Opened yet, what is the refund policy? Do you need the recepit?

I had excellent treatment and service at my local LA weight loss center a couple of years ago. I cannot fault them on that and lost 30 lbs as a result. (in fact I have to return to lose the same 30 lbs I lost at that time.) I have absolutely no idea how on earth the $800 contract came to light. If the author had done any research, she would have discovered that this amount is (a) totally avoidable - you do not have to take the whole package, and (b) about 500 more than I spent on the introductory plan. I thought this was good (not excellent) value for money. However, when I came for my second visit, I was hit big time with a cost that had not been listed in the contract (if it was, it was not pointed out to me). I had a different consultant who told me that I must purchase a 6 month supply of their nutrition bars and I stupidly wrote a check right then and there for that amount. I lost the weight after three months and frankly kept forgetting to eat the nutrition bars (which I was to collect on a weekly basis after the previous amount had been devoured). In the end I had a huge backlog of bars that I could not have finished the supply had I eaten them three times a day) The lesson I think is to shop around - there is so much choice now. Of course these franchises have to make a profit, but if their products were more competively priced, then customers would not look around for similar products outside the plan. The feedback from me in terms of the end result is good. But the extra $ I had to fork out after my initial payment was cashed, left a nasty taste in my mouth

If you had a good experience with LAWL great! But did you really need to pay $1200 to loose 17 pounds? As for the company itself DO NOT FOOL YOURSELF INTO THINKING WE WERE TRAINED!!! We are trained to sell and that is it. No one there is qualified to give diet advice and further more, we are only paid $8 and hour plus commision after being promised LOADS of money, so chances are you're putting your weight loss in the hands of angry employees. As for lites "not being refundable" that's BS if you don't use any product you've paid for and it isn't taken from the center, you are entitled to a refund, the manager just doesn't want the commission taken out her next check because she probobly only make $250 a week for 50-55 hours of work anyway! They purposely make you wait for refunds and try to LEAP you to make you stay so they don't loos the money. (That's why they are so helpful when you're going to quit) The company is BS and PS not all of the centers are franchise, so if you move from a franchise to a corprate, then you loose the $149 signup when you switch centers...bet they didn't tell you that!

When I was hired at LAWL, I was told that you would had to sell some things. It is a commission job, ladies. I was never told about sales quotas that HAD to be reach. They made it sound like you sell what you can because there was a based salary (a sorry 8.00+com). As time went on, I start finding out the REAL LAWL. We would have meetings and workshops on how to take people money. There would be times when the trainer would teach us how to get someone to sign up or buy something who was absolutely dead broke. The answer: making them sign up for Care Credit. (Does that sound familiar ladies?) I have a big consciousness on me. I was helping people lose weight left and right without having them spend money on the expensive products they offer. The clients loved me. However other employees there were good sellers and was put on a pedestal, I was treated like the enemy. When I was put on a 4-week probation to get my numbers up, I said forget it, I'm through. I didn't care after that because I saw them for who they were and they knew it and had to get me out. Managers tried to talk to me and then talk behind my back. Older clients started to see that the managers were not as interested in them as they were in the newer clients. Why? The newer clients are still purchasing the program. Another employee and I were thrown on the older clients and saw that. NOW TO THE LADY WHO SAYS LAWL IS GREAT, READ THIS: I asked my manager one day: "If I was a counselor who sold everything, great seller, but the clients hated me, would I be on probation like I am now?" Her response: "No." What does that tell you? So honey, the only reason they called to get you in and check on was to get your money. Trust me, we had workshops on calling people because they will think you care, come in, and will buy from you. I HATE TO TELL YOU BUT IT'S THE TRUTH. From that day on, I truly knew it was about the money. That's all they want, ladies. Personally, I would take the advice of someone who said it, about seeing your doctor. At least you have insurance to cover that. And Wanda I was in the Charlotte area too, but not Gastonia center. All of those centers are owned by the same person, who we never saw, but was getting rich.

Wanda is right. They are a rip off. And now where they've changed the program to where you have to pay totally upfront either by cash, check or their Care Credit card. You're locked into them for a year or more. I've been on the program and have followed it to a T for the past 6 months and have lost and gained the same 10lbs. Up 2 down 5. Up 1 down 1. It's ridiculous and I also have insulin resistance b/c of PCOS which I told them when I signed up. But it doesn't work. Being locked to this CC with a 1200 balance is a bunch of BS! You should be able to cancel if it doesnt work for you. They give all sorts of excuses for when u don't go down. Like for me they tell me it's due to my knee surgeries and my period and water retention when I drink over 75oz of water a day and take prescribed diuretics. They now also only have you come into the center ONCE A WEEK! Why am I paying out the nose to only see the "sales people" only once a week!? I can weigh myself once a week for free. That's a bunch of BS!!! The BBB has over 150 complaints for this company. That's just not good. Get out while you can!

What we need to understand about LA weight loss is that they are a franchise. Some people will loose weight if your problem is simple but if you have problems like insulin resistance you need to go to an endocronologist because LA weight loss is not for people with that condition. When I went to LA weight loss I was desperate. I wanted to be healthy and they played on my emotions. I just wanted help. But I did not know that my insulin resistance was going to be a problem. I have currenlty filed a BBB report in North Carolina as well. I would not recomend them to anyone. Please go to an endocronologist.

Well, its the same old story: Your overweight, you've tried hundreds of diets, etc. yet you dont lose weight. Hmmm, methinks you dont have ambition, stamina, will power to lose weight no matter the program. I joined LA Weighloss 2 months ago. The program was well explained. There are 3 options: just buy the opportunity to visit the center 3 time a week to weigh in, and purchase OR NOT any of their hi protein supplements. Plus two other options which include their supplements. In addition if you weigh in 3 times a week and reach your goal and hold it and continue to weigh in once a week you get 1/4 of your money back. If you maintain for one year and weigh in once a week, you get another 1/4 of your money back. As with everything else, if you dont pay attention, or ask questions, or read what your paying for, blame it on the company. Ive been to 3 centers, whichever is more convenient on a given day. Every center employee was overweight and lost weight on the program. They are positive and encouraging, compassionate if you goof up, and regular cheerleaders if you lose. And if I dont show up they call me at home to find out if IM ok and encourage me to come in. (THIS IS AFTER I ALREADY PAID AND THEY DONT GET A PENNY MORE) Sure they are in business to make money, but it is the best money I ever spent, and cheaper than all the junk food I used to buy. I selected the program and included the center visits and enough of the regular products for my entire program. OK it was $1200. However, I tried every other program, bought every quick fix product in stores and over the internet, and spent alot of money doing so. With no results. Ive lost 17 lbs in six weeks and never ate so much in my life. And never healthier. The supplements are very high in protein and taste so good, it feels like cheating. They are downright decadent. Thats what keeps me going. I can have their bars which are carmel/chocolate for example. I have a chocolate milkshake every day that tastes like it came from an ice cream parlor and so filling. I am not an employee, stockholder or in any way connected to anyone in the organization. Just a customer. My daughter in law lost 50 lbs on the program. Soooooo, just because you didnt pay attention to what u signed up for, just because you cant stick to any diet, dont use LA Weightloss as a scapegoat for your inability to lose weight. Sounds like sour grapes from Gastonia, who wants to lost weight and doesnt have the discipline to do so. I used to be that way too. But they have given me the tools and encouragement to do so now. Thank you LA Weightloss.

EXPRESS MOVING & STORAGE, INC OF BOCA RATON, FL RIP-OFF

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sat, October 15, 2005

In August 2005, I hired Express Moving & Storage Inc, 22028 Las Brisas Circle, Boca Raton, Fl 33433 to move me from Florida to NY which was recommended by a friend who used them locally. A rep came to the storage facility where I had my belongins and quoted me a flat rate of $1800 -$1900. I accepted the agreement. On the day of the move the truck came and couldn't fit all my stuff in one truck. I was told they had to put some of it on another truck. I attested this and called the owner Schlomie and complained about how poor a job his men were doing with the itemizing of inventory and the two different trucks and the possibility of losing my stuff. I didn't want my boxspring strapped to the outside of the truck, and he guaranteed me that my possessions would all be delivered and my boxspring wouldn't get ruined that they have done that before so he was confident enough to tell me that he would re-imburse me for any damages and I shouldn't worry. Well my boxspring got wet which now is rusted and is only 4 years old. My first shipment came on August 9th but was unable to live in the apt I had paid for because all my blankets sheets, towels and bedding was on the 2nd truck which came 5 days later on Aug 14th. I paid $1900 and suffered lots of anguish due to the fact of many broken and damaged items, that are irreplaceable. then 3 days later a missing box pops up after me complaining all week long about this box and many phone calls. He (Schlomie) assured me he would take care of what I have missing, broken and damaged if I send him pictures and an itemized report. I sent him 9 pictures and an itemized letter estimating $740 on Sept 19th certified mail and till this date he still hasn't responded or even picked up his mail nor has he responded to his e-mail. he has been jerking me around and find him and his company very unprofessional. I am a single female and don't know how to get reimbursed for his mistakes like he said he would. I now live in NY and his company is located in florida and is not reliable and is very unprofessional and he should not be in business. He has been avoiding me and I just want him to replace whats lost and damaged and reimburse me as he offered. This was the move from hell and he needs to be stopped. I need help! please advise.
