Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In July this year, 2006, I was traveling alone from Florida to Arkansas. I didn't have a cell phone and needed to check in with my family. I stopped at a Walmart in Birmingham, AL to buy a phone card. For some reason, the phone card didn't work. I had already spent too much time trying to get another card and was frustrated.

I remembered that the prompts on the payphone said it took debit/credit cards. I figured it would probably cost $5-6, reading the per minute charges on the payphone, so I entered my card number. The first call didn't go thru, so I tried another number. It went through and I talked approximately 5 minutes, then went on my way.

About a week later, I was going over my bank account and discovered 2 charges for almost $30 each. I began trying to find out something about Legacy when I found several reports on this website with similar experiences. I then decided to call them to get my money back.

I finally found a number that worked and spoke to someone who said he was a supervisor, named Lewis. After about 20 minutes of me telling him I wanted my money back and his company was a scam, I told him I would settle for 75% of what they had charged me. He first said all he oould do was 40%, then 50%, then 60%. I told him if he could do 60%, he could do 75%. He finally agreed to this after I threatened to file complaints with the Bettter Business Bureau, the Attorney General of Californa, the FCC and any other state they did business in.

I waited almost two months with no refund, so I then began filing ocmplaints with all the agencies I had mentioned above. I got several responses, most telling me that they couldn't help me. However, I did get a response from the Attorney General's office of Alabama, telling me that they had a response from the company, who agreed to refund 75% of the charges. The same day I received a response from the FCC, telling me the same thing.

Miracle of all miracles, my money has been refunded!!!

So, all of you who have been scammed by this company, file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, FCC and the Attorney General's office of the state you were scammed in.

If enough people complain on them, the FCC may eventually do more than just get money back to those of you who were scammed as I was. They need to be out of business.

GOOD LUCK!!!
