I'm glad that someone else has had experience with this same manager (Linda Mcgree). This posting confirms the assumptions that she is in no position to be managing a store. She needs to be yanked out of that management position and given some proper customer service and ethics training. She's the type to individual that probably did not finish high school and forged qualifications on her resume in order to get a decent job. Her store's a mess and she treats customers and employees like crap. Family Dollar should really consider reviewing these complaints and taking the necessary action before she runs this store to the ground.

did you have any proof showing that you were on a leave of absense? Did you call her from your cell phone? If you did you can show that you called her several times, which maybe you should have personally went up there and ask her, so you would have been noticed in public. Did you miss three days in a row with no call, and no show?If it is three days in a row(not counting the days off) she can't just fire you for that,(family dollar policy). And it is not printed on the schedule anywhere from the company that it is subject to change, but you as a (manager) they have to call and talk to you personaly and tell you that. The pay being more than yours , well that should go before the DM,she cant just give them pay more than you, that has to be ok with DM, and corp., because if they are getting more than you, then they have to be a key holder. If i were you, stick to the basics with your unemployment, you need to get all your info that you can prove, and you prove to the unemployment that you did not break any rules set out in the handbook, or the strand books that you know of and if you did they have to PROVE it,they have to have PIP's with your signature, and if you are not aware of them, you tell them if you were wrote up, you get a yellow copy and you want to see your handwriting, (it is like this either party of this can be guilty)they have to prove that you violated a company rule, and if they say it is insubordation, they have to by company policy prove you were warned by writing. And, "if" this is going on with the guys, you need to contact, the loss prevention dept. in your handbook, or any paperwork you have, they can investigate without her DM or her knowing it, they can do night watches, or secret shoppers etc.. But, remeber, be glad you are out of it, this company in my opinon(legal) is something that drains the blood out of a turnip(workers) just think how much your back, legs, arms will thank u on this, unloading trucks etc.. you can find something better, i wish you the best, (that is whether you are telling the truth or not)
