Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
One person I know was job hunting on monster.com today and this company jumped right on him and I don't care what they say, he told them in the screening profile that he wanted salaried work and they still wrote him back immediately asking him to come in for an interview.

SO much for the "we will eliminate folks who don't want commissioned work" He had no sales background whatsoever so I got suspicious and checked them out. Needless to say this is not the type of job he was looking for and he will not be attending the "Group meeting". One other weird thing is that they have no, and I mean not one phone number on the website. If I was recruiting, I would think you would have one place where people could at least call and ask a couple of questions. They may be a legitimate business opportunity, but I think they should stick to the policy they themselves say they have.

Thanks to those who already put in their reports. He will look elsewhere.

Not Just Looking for Those With Sales Backgrounds

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, April 09, 2008

Without your name or email address or CareerBuilder resume ID I can't comment specifically on what we saw in your resume - but what I can tell you is that we don't just look for those with sales backgrounds. The common thread we're looking for are those with demonstrated people skills. We look for executives, managers, entrepreneurs, teachers, coaches, public speakers and those who have shown by their professional experience that they have solid interpersonal communications skills. Our top performing agents come from all walks of life and virtually all industries. One of very best was shoeing horses before he joined us. The fact that you don't have in interest in sales is certainly your preference - and we've made it very easy for you to remove yourself from our future resume searches on purpose. We don't want to waste time interviewing those who don't want to interview with us. All the best in your career search. Highest regards, Chuck Siegel CEO, The Lionheart Group, Inc.

Geran - Thanks for your post. I'd like to investigate your claim further, and if we actually did get to the point of inviting your friend to an interview I'd like to apologize and find out what went wrong with our internal systems. We put a considerable emphasis on making sure that we're only inviting those to interview that have an interest in professional business to business sales - not those looking for a traditional salaried job. Yes, we will consider those who don't have a sales background if we're convinced by both their background and with what we see in our interview process that they've got strong communications skills suitable for interfacing with business decision makers. In addition to carefully reviewing resumes, we are very clear in the initial email that we send to candidates that this is professional business to business sales. We don't even want them to bother with filling out our compatibility profile if this is not their interest. Here is an excerpt of the initial email they receive from us... "PLEASE NOTE: You have been sent this email because we saw something in your resume that would indicate to us a potential fit for professional business to business sales." "If you feel we have made an error, there is no reason for you to click on the compatibility profile below. Please simply go to the bottom of this email and click on the link that reads Block this employer from viewing your resume. This will permanently remove your resume from our recruiting process." If a candidate does choose to complete our compatibility profile, one of the questions we ask them deals directly with whether they are looking for a salaried job. It says... "Financially speaking, I would be motivated by..." ...and one of the options is "Salary (fixed income no matter what I produce)". As you can see, we were careful to define exactly what we mean by the word "salary". If they choose "Salary" (among other choices) then they are immediately disqualified from our interview process and will not be invited to an interview. As I mentioned above, I would be very interested to have more information about your friend's application because we keep these profile responses on file for just this reason. If we somehow made a mistake, I'd like to apologize and explore what went wrong on our end. Highest regards, Chuck Siegel CEO, The Lionheart Group, Inc.
