First and foremost, Littleton Coin Company would NEVER sent out unsolicited cataloges, LET ALONE THEIR COINS, to just any Joe-Schmoe hoping they may give into the tempation and buy their coin. Does not happen. Period. Amen. End of story. The person above fell victim to the following joke/scam that is literally decades old. However, they were either not too bright to think of it, or too ignorant to consider it, and would rather just blame a reputable company. Somebody CLEARLY filled out the postage paid card requesting this silver dollar from Littleton, and popped it in the mail. You see these all the time in your Sunday newspapers. Yes, Littleton does advertise this way for NEW customers, but you CLEARLY have to send the little card back with your name and information FIRST. Somebody did this to this person. Perhaps as a joke, or somebody getting back at them, or more than likely, one of their kid's friends, etc etc. One of the oldest gimmicks in the books. Even if the card wasn't postage paid, somebody could have easilly put a 41 cent stamp on it and sent it in. Or better yet, they probably went online and did it all within 2 minutes time, free of any postage rules. Can't tell you how many people do this as a joke, or to get back at somebody, or to just "get free stuff." I may have even done it myself. Me and my friends would fill out the postage paid cards for ourselves or each other for Playboy magazine, Time magazine, etc. Bam. A few weeks later, we'd get at least one free magazine. Oops, but "we never ordered this." (sarcasm). We'd get to keep it. Some of the best heists we pulled was for BMG or Coumbia House. Sign up now and get 7 free cds right off the bat. Can't tell you how many times we did this for ourselves or each other (or even people we didn't like) and we'd put fake names but real addresses. The cds would come, we'd get to keep them, and then we'd write a professional letter to BMG or Columbia House stating that "nobody by the name of Johnny Angel lives here and/or we never received your product." Badda Bang Badda Boom. BMG or Columbia House naturally can't do anything. Nobody is going to come to your house and break down your door to get money for cds for a person that legally "doesn't exist", right? Pretty simple, huh? Sometimes, we'd sign up people for free samples of Depends adult diapers, tampons, etc. Oldest gimmick in the book. This is clearly what happened to the person above. Check out your children or their friends first. Or if you don't have kids, maybe somebody is just trying to get back at you or play a joke on you or your wife. You were obviously SIGNED UP for what happened to you. Littleton DOES NOT do this. Period.
