Manfredi Hyundai has a reputation for rudeness. Unfortunately, your two year warranty on a used Hyundai was probably not through Hyundai, it was third party. Third party warranties cost the dealer quite a bit of money if they (the dealer) honor them because it cuts into their profit. Third party warranties for the most part are ripoffs. The dealer may purchase the service for lets say $150, but sells it to the customer for $800-$1200. Nice chunk of change they make on that. They told you they were busy and to leave the car over-night...yeah well, that's a classic line they use. They do that because it might discourage you from leaving it and if you don't leave it now, chances are you might not have a change to do so later. What does that mean for them? They just got rid of you. Or if you decide that you will leave it, they will always deny you rental. Again, to discourage you from leaving your car. Manfredi very rarely will provide a rental vehicle. You know why? because it's not really a rental. It's a vehicle off their lot. They don't pay for rentals. If they did provide rentals, it would be through reimbursement. In other words, you rent the car and bring them the receipts. Of course, as long as you're not renting a Cadilac. Rule of thumb is $25-$45 per day. Anyway, beware if they do offer you a "rental" off their lot. They will get you for any little scratch, dent, noise under the hood, whatever, knowing fully well that it was there before they released the vehicle to you. That's your punishment for asking for a "rental", trust me. So consider yourself lucky that you took the bus. "The woman put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and told me No. We were busy today and MAYBE tomorrow they can look at it.'' - classic Manfredi customer service.

To answer your questions, I waited 5 years to file the complaint because I just purchased a computer. The reason why I called later on the day I dropped the car off is because I wanted to see if they had taken a look at my car. The warranty was through Hyundai, however at the time I knew Hyundai was going to give me trouble with reimbursing me for the rental car money and thats why I didnt rent a car.

Why did you wait for 5 years to post a complaint that happened in 2002 ? Something pissed you off today. I have to think that everything you have written is true. Very good recall on your part. I do not understand the point concerning the lady you talked too. You seem to complain that she put you on hold for five minutes. I suppose that she had to go check on the status of your car. After finding out what the status was, she came back on told you. I do not understand why you called them that day to find out what the status of your vehicle was. You had already been told earlier that day, by the shop manager, that your car would not be worked on until the following day. Was the extended warranty with Hyundai or with an aftermarket group? If it was with Hyundai, I would think that you could have rented a moderately priced car and then been reimbursed. They may have not had a loaner car for you, but you said that the extended warranty entitled you to a rental. Why didn't you go get a rental and then get paid back after turning in the bill?
