Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I lived at 5412 Sepulveda Blvd for 4 years and it was reasonable until, I repeat until Mashcole took over. Suddenly you couldn't get anything fixed, they attached all kinds of random fees to their "services" and rents sky rocketed for new tenants, of which there were few. In fact, after Mashcole came and took over, so many people left that they introduced move in specials and still had more empty apartments than full ones (probably becuase of the outrageous rent).

Once you move out they are supposed to return your deposit within 25 days. It has been almost 60 days and I have yet to see a check.

I called and spoke with Ray Tourofian (not sure if last name spelling is correct) who told me that my name was not on the lease. I know that he was lying because I signed it myself. He also let me know that out of $550 total deposit (half was for a pet) I would be getting $98 back. When I started asking questions about why, Ray became aggressive and started talking down to me about the way "they do things" and said that even though they used my pet deposit to pay for repainting, it was okay, because it is all considered just a deposit. I particualrly found that last part interesting because it is doubtful that argument would work for me if I were trying to tell them I didn't owe any additional money for a pet.

But I digress. Ray took my number and correct forwarding address, promised me an itemized list of what they used my money for and said he would look into what had happened to my check and call me back, but that "dollar wise it wasn't much anyway". Needless to say, he has not called me back. I have left messages, I have called my old apartment manager. I will be stopping by the offices soon if I do not get through.

This is a terrible, terrible management company who will steal your money just because they think they can. Renter beware: do some research on the building before you sign a lease or agreement, because if the building is managed by Mashcole, you will get screwed.
