I don't know where else to turn? I bought a Maytag washer May 2007 and have had it serviced 6 times within the "Warranty Period". Every time I call they replace the timer I have tried to tell them what the service men keep telling me.... They have cheapened their product by outsourcing their parts (the timer specifically which is made out of extremely cheap plastic!) to God knows where? They keep replacing it and it keeps shutting down my washer! Since buying this "New Maytag", I have been to the laundry mat twice, taken off work 3 times to have it serviced and spent hundreds of dollars having an electrician check my circuit breaker. It all leads back to Maytag's crappy product and they keep giving me the run around - all this during their warranty period in less than a year. I replaced it with the exact same model myself and it broke within a week - same model - same new Maytag. Their reputation is no good, their products used to be prime but now they have cheapened themselves by outsourcing their parts to save a buck!

Now that the warranty is up I'm sure they will want to sign me up for extended service.............consumers mean nothing to them once they buy their products. Good luck getting a straight answer from their corporate office in Michigan. I have also reported them to the Better Business Bureau. The crappy Model Washer is this: Maytag MTW5740TQ Whatever you do dont buy it you will be in the laundry mat more than your home.......

The joke is on you. Maytag went out and Whirlpool bought the company, closed most of the plants. What you have is an expensive joke. A cheap Whirlpool with a Maytag label pasted on the front. Same basic parts, some slight cosmetic differences.
