I purchased a Maytag Neptune front load washing machine in January, 2003. Mold and odor are a major problem. The large rubber surrounding the tub is full of mold and odor.

I spoke with Heydlauff's in Chelsea MI where I purchased the machine. They said to call Maytag that they may want to put some parts on it. I called Maytag and was told I could buy a freshner kit from them. A supervisor related a memorized statement to me and said I caused the problem.

I later found out that a class action suite was filed Mink v. Maytag in the state of Illinois and the courts decision was Maytag was to do up to two repairs and if they could not resolve the problem then they must give a certificate toward a new machine.

The Judge stated in the settlement a long list of models of machines purchased between April 1, 1997 and August 9, 2004. Maytag refuses to do anything about my machine. They state the deadline has passed to file a claim.
