These folks hate the threat of losing their law licenses. So get the names of all attorneys associated with your situation. Get them all. Then contact the Bar Association in the state where they are doing business. Find out how to file a complaint with them. The Bar regulates attorneys in their state. They can discipline an attorney for unethical conduct all the way up to pulling their license and not allowing them to practice law in that state for the rest of their lives. I sent a complaint to the Bar Association on behalf of a client who was scammed and they got their money back.
Rory Alarcon (that's where the RMA comes from ) is being investigated by the NY Bar. The other places are the NY Attorney General (this office is very aggressive in handling complaints like this), the agency in your state that licenses businesses to operate in that state. If you are not located in the states where these places operate then there is a chance they never bothered to get licensed. Also, be aware of the fact that it is illegal to charge fees up front before doing any work on a mortgage modification. That is true in every state. Complaint about that to the Federal Trade Commission and check wit the local DA.

I fear that I have been ripped off by this "firm". It's been nearly a year and absolutely no results and just a lot of run around and heated emails. How can I reverse this charge as mentioned?
