Starting back in March 2007 I noticed that at least 75% of the time sandwiches that should be hot were cool to luke-warm when given to me.

On April 13, 2007 I spoke to someone at the customer service department at the McDonalds main office (630) 623-3000. I was told that I would receive a call from the owner of the store and that there would be a follow-up call, from McDonalds, to make sure things were resolved.

I did receive a call that same day from the owner of the location. He apologized and invited me to come back. I did tell him that because of all of the instances at his store I would not be back. I never did receive a follow-up call from the customer service department.

I relented last week and went to their drive-through to get a hamburger. The burger was, once again just barely warm. I again went there the morning of May 4, 2007 and ordered a breakfast sandwich and something called a Cinnamon Melt. The Cinnamon melt was just barely warm to the touch as was the breakfast sandwich. In addition the sandwich had a piece of cheese on it that was so cold it felt like it had just been taken out of a refrigerator.

I, once again, got in touch with the customer service department and I was told the complaint would be escalated but I really doubt it will do any good. If the owner did not take care of the original complaint, and it came directly from the McDonalds Corporation, I doubt if he really cares.

One other thing. I was told by the customer service department that this location has had several other complaints, in the past month, about the food being cold. They also acknowledged that most of the time people don't bother to complain so they really don't know how many others this has happened to.

A follow-up to my original complaint. The afternoon of May 4, 2007 I received a phone call from someone who told me he was the regional manager for the area that the problem McDonalds is in. He told me that the store was not following proper procedures and that's why the food was not hot. He also told me he was going to that location to address the issue. He didn't explain why it took almost a month, after my first call, and after some other complaints, to get to that point. On May 5, 2007 at 7:53 AM I received a phone call from someone who said he was the manager of the McDonalds where I've had all of the problems. He apologized to me and, like the owner did last month, he invited me to come back. He did not address the issue as to why this has been going on since back in March 2007 which is when I first noticed the problem. He also said he did not know about the other complaints which tells me that he is either lying or McDonalds home office is not forwarding the complaints to the store. I do not plan on going back to this location but I may just do that after a few weeks have past just to see if things have changed. I doubt they will change but you never know. I also told the home office, regional manager and the store manager of my original report so hopefully, if they read it, they will be embarrassed enough to really make the change.

That's why you can get a full meal there for $5.
