I traded in two cars for one at MCLS Autos in Bridgeview on 03/27/07 - since the loan to value was high they made me purchase SAFE-GAP total loss protection plan for $695.00. The finance manager informed me that it's the only way for me to get a loan. So, I purchased it... and now on 03/13/09 my vehicle was stolen and has not been recovered. I still have a loan on this car with Wells Fargo Auto Finance, my insurance company paid out a chunk to the loan company since it is a total loss. Once the claim with my insurance company was completed, I filed a claim with Safe-Gap, I sent in all the needed info including front and back copies of the GAP contract. About 10 business days have passed, I called Safe-Gap for an update on the claim and was informed that the claim is denied becuase the dealer never sent in a payment for this plan nor a copy of the contract. It's weird that Wells Fargo Auto Finance knew that I have GAP coverege and they sent them info about the loan, but GAP had no record of me ever having it. Which means that MCLS charged me for this service - protection plan and kept the money for themselves. They never sent payment and screwed me over. Now I have a balance on my loan, don't have the car and need to make payments. This is horrible.... I also read so many testimonials from people about how they screwd them over. One of the owners of MCLS was Lester Bafia, he interviewed with a magazine called EXPRESS where he provided his phone #, so I am providing it: Lester Bafia 708/906-3594 he mentioned that every one of his clients will be satisfied and will resolve every issue. Well, I called him many times, left messeges, but so far have not heard from him. Tha GAP company told me that I have to go after the dealership, and that the balance on the loan is their responsibility since they are the ones that charged me for GAP, never sent in the payment and now I can't even use the service. I can't even find them anymore, I have no idea where to look or what to do. The balance on the loan is about $9,000 and I can't afford to pay this for nothing, and I don't even have that car. Also, I was informed that if they filed bankruptcy then I can do something about this, but if they didn't then I can't go after the dealership, since they just packed up, locked up their doors and left. If anyone knows anything please, please let me know. Something must be done about this, and someone must have some kind of information about them. MCLS and the owners must pay for all this damage that they have caused people. It's just not right. If anyone knows anything please let me know. I contacted attorney general office, but no response. Thank you.

Thomas J. S, I have a very similar experience with MCLS. I purchased a mercedes benz from them on 11-23-07 and still have no title. My wife and I are ready and willing to support action taken toward MCLS to benefit us all. Please respond back. I finally found something out regarding MCLS holding titles. 5th/3rd bank has siezed the titles. I spoke to the Bridgeview police who gave me this information. I also spoke to someone at 5th/3rd and they are looking into how to get me my title. 5th/3rd 800-972-3030. If you call them plan on being on hold for a while and getting transfered several times before finding the right person.
