Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I became a member for the Melaleuca company in Sept 2006. I was only a member for 3 days because I found out exactly how much it was really going to cost me.I told my mentor I had changed my mind, and she said to fax in a letter to tell them I wanted to cancel my membership. I read more into it and realized I had to send a letter in.

At this time, she had already took my savings account information so she could withdraw money for my starter(business)kit, plus, I had already placed my first future order for $92.00.Upon cancelling, I told them in my letter I wanted to cancel the future order, and have my money refunded from the business kit.

This is what happened-On the day I sent in my cancellation letter, I closed my savings account, because I had read on here that they keep taking money out of your account even after you cancel- if I would have known about rip-off-report sooner, it would have saved me a lot of hassle.

I called the following tuesday to see if they got my letter, they did'nt, they said call back on friday. I did. They said they got it and they were going to send me my refund after I sent the business kit back. I asked if they had cancelled my future order, they said yes.

I looked online and the website said the order was shipped out the same day I told them I was going to cancel my membership. Now why would they send out an order that I had placed for Sept 25, on Sept 6th? So, I called them up again, asked them that very question, and they said I could'nt place future orders because I was just starting in the business-you have to be at a certain level to place future orders-, but my mentor did'nt tell me that.

So, I had to wait for my business kit to arrive-sent it back unopened, wait for my future order to come-send that back. Then I waited till the middle of October to make sure everything got back o.k.

Then I get a letter in the mail saying I owe $60.00 from my order I placed. Here we go again-I called them up, they say , yes, we got the bus. kit, and your order was returned. Well then why do I owe money? The day I cancelled my membership is the same day they tried to process that order and take money out of my savings, luckly I closed my account. So, I said " How can you try to send something to me without me paying for it? and then sending it to me, getting it back, and I still owe you money, when I don't even have anything???

So, it is now December 6, 2006 I called a lady last week, they said they sent me a refund check, but it came back because there was no amount put on it,(??) and they said they would reissue another check for me and it was sent out on November 29, 2006.

So, I guess we will see what happens-it is only $15.30, to some ppl that is no big deal, but to others who are struggling to survive -it buys the diapers for the week.

It's not a job - it's a business...

Nothing wrong with having a job but imagine if you could just get your brain wrapped around "working" for youself... Melaleuca doesn't offer jobs unless you're willing to move to Idaho Falls where they're based. Melaleuca offers a lemonade stand for grown ups - You can own the lemonade stand and work towards making a profit... You can work at the lemonade stand, earning a wage which may or may not be worth it... Or you can simply buy the lemonade with money you made someplace else... I prefer option A but will always need some option B's and C's to make my dreams come true...thanks for your good service to society!

Well, I finally got a refund check in the amount of $15.30 on Wednesday, December 20,2006. I have learned my lesson from this. Any business that asks you to buy things from their company every month, do not expect to make alot of money. The only way a person is going to keep ahead is to actually work-and I am not talking about any company that says "Work for yourself, you can retire in 2 years". That I now know is a bunch of B.S. Any company that wants you to pay them money to work for their company is a scam!!!!!!!!!!
