HEllo please help me i have a big problem. I called the john beck program and they promised me money and wealth. i believed them and used my credit card to order the products for about $34.99 i belive. But then i noticed that my credit card bill came at around $5,400!! I couldn't believe this! So i called and demanded a refund which they claimed i would recieve if i was displeased with the product.

They advised me that they would charge a $400 fee if i got a refund at that moment and told me to wait a couple weeks and i would recieve a full refund for no additional charge. I stupidly believed them. when i called weeks later i recieved no responsde and finalli figured that this was a scam!!

I cancelled my credit card and don't know what else to do! Please help me to get my money back PLEASE! Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU.

Verbal Agreements and Verbal Contracts DON'T COUNT in Utah

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, August 26, 2006

Mentoring of America will tell anyone who calls them and demands a full refund, that they have you recorded on tape agreeing to their terms and conditions. And that therefore they cannot and will not give you your money back no matter what. Let me make this perfectly clear to everyone reading this, or anyone that has been told that. The state of Utah DOES NOT honor or consider valid ANY VERBAL AGREEMENTS OR VERBAL CONTRACTS, period. They DON'T COUNT. So weather you did or did not agree to anything over the phone with Mentoring of America does NOT matter when seeking a refund through the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. If Mentoring of America has told you that you have been recorded on tape agreeing to anything and won't give you your money back, DO NOT let this hold you back from seeking a refund.

I think Arnulfo should have contacted his CC bank and

requested a chargeback, because it was a fraudulent charge. I think this would have been the (favorable) end of the matter. The delaying tactics were intended to prevent a chargeback. He would have up to 6 months to request a chargeback. If the account is canceled I cannot predict what options he has, but I would still advise that Arnulfo talk to the CC bank about a chargeback. Time is of the essence. I also would advise Arnulfo to learn more about his (legal) options with credit cards.

Beck is getting desperate

#4Consumer Suggestion

Wed, August 23, 2006

His usual mode of operation is to have one of his sociopaths call you first and get you to agree to a bogus contract. It now seems that he is getting desperate and bolder, by skipping the sociopaths and just using your card number to steal from you. You did not even agree to the bogus contract, you must fight this. I would read all the other posts on this website on how other victims have gotten their monies back. That will give you ideas, and you may also want to contact a good attorney to help you fight this. Take them to court if you have to, but do not give up these people are maggots and need to be stopped. Best of luck I think you have a good chance to get your money back.

Government Action Taken So Far Against Mentoring of America LLC

#5Consumer Suggestion

Wed, August 23, 2006

On October 21, 2004 Mentoring of America, LLC entered into a settlement agreement with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection (the Division). According to the terms of the agreement, Mentoring of America, LLC agreed to pay a fine of $2,000 and comply with all provisions of the Consumer Sales Practices Act and the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act in future consumer transactions in the state of Utah. Mentoring of America, LLC also agreed that within 30 days it would submit a completed application for telemarketing under the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, and make refunds within ten days in the amounts previously agreed to with the Division to those consumers whose names were previously listed and others whose complaints were pending with the Division of Consumer Protection. On October 28, 2005 Mentoring of America, LLC entered into a settlement agreement with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection (the Division). According to the terms of the agreement, Mentoring of America, LLC agreed to comply with all requirements of the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act, Utah Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, Business Opportunity Act and all other laws and rules administered by the Division applicable to them. The company agreed to pay an administrative fine to the Division, and make refunds by December 31, 2005 to consumers referenced in the agreement. The company also agreed to resolve and refund, without Division action, all other consumer complaints similarly situated under the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act, Utah Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, and Utah Business Opportunity Act that are filed with the Division in the future and that occurred prior to this settlement agreement. The company further agreed to disclose in a clear and conspicuous manner the products and/or services represented in their sales presentations as well as whom will be providing those products and/or services. Nothing in the agreement should be construed as an admission of guilt or liability by Mentoring of America, LLC. On April 4, 2006 the Utah Division of Consumer Protection (the Division) filed an amended complaint with the Third Judicial District Court of the State of Utah (the Court) against Mentoring of America LLC, John Beck Amazing Profits LLC, and Jeff Paul (MOA). Charges filed indicate MOA breached the settlement agreement dated October 28, 2005 by failing to file the disclosures required to sell assisted marketing plans; honor the three-day right to cancel; and reform its business practices. The complaint indicates that MOA violated the Consumer Sales Practices Act, the Business Opportunity Disclosure Act, and the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act. The Division is seeking: damages and restitution for loss suffered by consumers to date; a fine for breach of the Settlement Agreement; an administrative fine for each deceptive act or practice found to have occurred; and for an order enjoining MOA all acts and practices in violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act, the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, and the Business Opportunity Act. The attorneys for MOA have answered the complaint asking the Court to judge that the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, the Business Opportunity Act, and the Consumer Sales Practices Act as codified in the Utah Code are unconstitutional and that the complaint be dismissed without prejudice. Need I say more about John Beck's Mentoring of America? There are more lawsuits underway right now against Mentoring of America. The Utah Divison of Consumer Protection is standing by for the currentlawsuits to conclude and the court outcomes.

Mentoring of America's Bogus Real Estate Coaches Come From Help Wanted Ads in Local Utah Newspapers

#6Consumer Suggestion

Wed, August 23, 2006

This is only one of the several newspaper classified ads that Mentoring of America is placing in local Utah newspapers like the Daily Herald to hire staff and coaches. This is where these phony, bogus, so called "professional" real estate coaches come from that everyone pays so much money for to learn from. This is one of their actual help wanted ads used to hire fake "professional" real estate coaches they have going right now. General Help Wanted Mentoring of America LLC Real Estate Coaching Inside Sales Hot Buyer leads / No cold calling Call: 877-704-6346 ext 4003 You are mislead by a lowly, sleasy, lying John Beck salesman, who determines the price on your available credit line, into paying thousands of dollars to learn from some regular employee who looked for a job in the classified ads. This person has J.O.B, has a boss that tells him/her what to do, drives to work each day, and follows scripts and a training call curriculum to tell you what to do on the phone. And everything they teach you is free general public knowledge you can easily get at the local library or the internet. And when you want your money back, they won't give it to you. But the whole time they tell you that these are "professional" real estate experts. Certainly not "knowledgeable, professional, experienced, successfull" real estate coaches now are they? No successfull real estate professional is going to take a job like this. I went thorough all ten of these 30 minute STUPID worthless coaching calls. They averaged me a cost of $702 per 30 minute call, or $23 dollars a minute! That was over $7,000 up front cost. I honestly learned far more about making money with real estate from watching one single episode of the TV show "PROPERTY LADDER" on TLC than this hunk of garbage.

This is exactly why John Beck's Mentoring of America is getting sued and under legal action right now.

Arnulfo, Cancelling your credit card was the first thing you needed to do, and you have already done that. That's good. Now the can't charge you anymore. BUT, you also need to call your credit card company and dispute the charges to have them reveresed. At the same time that you do that, DO ALL OF THE FOLLOWING TOO. MENTORING OF AMERICA SUED AND UNDER LEGAL ACTION Mentoring of America, the fraud company who does John Beck's BS coaching/mentoring program, and charges everyone a different price based on their available credit, is under legal lawsuits right now. They always set the price of this BS program solely on how much credit cards/open credit you have. That's why you paid $5,400 and I paid over $7,000 for the same garbage. Others on this site have paid anywhere from $1,500 to over $15,000 for the same reason. Please see this news report on the lawsuits against John Beck's Mentoring of America Copy and paste the link below to your browser, while the video is still up. wkrc.com/mediacenter/?videoId=10945=9 GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK FROM MENTORING OF AMERICA Mentoring of America is under lots of legal action from consumer lawsuits right now. The state of Utah is taking action against them also for continuing to violate consumer protection laws and failing to reform it's business practices. I got my $7,000 plus back two years later, only after I filed this complaint form against Mentoring of America. I turned this complaint form into the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. Less than 3 weeks later I get a refund agreement delivered overnight, hand signed by Mentoring of America's HENRY BRAZIL (Customer Service Manager) and KASI MINTER (Supervisor). It does not matter how long ago it was that you got cheated. The Utah Division of Consumer Protection is seeking to recover losses suffered by all vitims of Mentoring of America to date. Copy and paste this link below for a consumer complaint form: consumerprotection.utah.gov/downloads/complaintform.pdf Print out this form , fill it in completely, explain in detail everything that happened in the "Summary" box, and turn it in immediately to the address on the form itself. Explain on the form that you are looking for help from the Utah Division in getting your money back from Mentoring of America. Don't wait until later. Put a tracking number on it and track it until it arrives in Utah. Follow up with investigator Ao Pauga at 801-530-6601 about your complaint a few days after your tracking number shows that your complaint form arrived. He sent Mentoring of America a letter and got them to send me a refund for 100% of the cost, when he got my consumer complaint form in the mail. INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING WITH YOUR COMPLAINT FORM Get a copy of your credit card/bank account statement and highlight the $5,400 charge and the other unaothrized charges as well. This is VERY important. Make a copy of this bank/credit card account statement, staple it to your consumer complaint form, and mail it to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. Also staple a copy of the "ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION" page that Mentoring of America should have sent you and told you to sign and return back to them if you have it. If they never sent it to you, call them and tell them to send it to you again. Don't tell them anything else. And definately DON'T sign and return that form back to Mentoring of America when you get it. Keep it, DON'T sign it, and make copies of it. USE THIS ADDRESS FOR MENTORING OF AMERICA ON YOUR COMPLAINT FORM: They have many different offices and addresses across Utah, but this is their main corporate office. Use this address on your complaint form, regardless of which other of their offices in Utah you are getting the coaching calls from. Mentoring of America LLC 752 East 1180 South Suite #200 American Fork, Utah 84003 Phone: 877-704-6346 PLEASE READ THESE ADDITIONAL NOTES Mentoring of America will tell you that they have you recorded on tape verbally agreeing to their terms and conditions, if you call them and demand a refund. This means NOTHING. The state of Utah DOES NOT honor or consider valid ANY type of verbal agreement or verbal contracts. Remember this. Verbal agreements or verbal contacts are WORTHLESS and DON'T COUNT in Utah. SINCE YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED PLEASE READ THIS Since you already closed that credit card account that you used at the time of purchase, you need to specify in your consumer complaint form that you want Mentoring of America to send you a refund IN THE FORM OF A CHECK, AND NOT A CREDIT BACK TO YOUR ACCOUNT, BECAUSE IT'S ALREADY CLOSED. If you don't mention this, Mentoring of America will send you a refund agreement for you to sign, that will want to credit back your already closed account. If you get a refund agreement wanting to do this and you credit card/bank account is closed, DON'T sign it. Don't call Mentoring of America either because they will lie to you to get you to sign it anyway. They lied to me about that, but I did not sign it. I made them send me a hand signed refund check in the mail instead, because I had already closed my account to keep them from ripping me off for even more money. Call the Utah investigator to help you get a refund check or refund agreement for a hand signed check, instead of a credit back to a closed credit card/bank account. Don't call Mentoring of America about his, they will purposely LIE to you.
