I had my first interview at Merl group with 10 other people, seemed normal and good. I was wrong about that. Two hours later I was called and told they wanted me to do a second interview. I felt happy about this. I had my second round interview on Monday with a very cute young girl named Ashley. She was only 21 and with the company for only 2 weeks. She hardly knew anything about the company and was unable to answer most of my questions. She was one of those girls who get by on their looks and are total airheads. She was very attractive in her super short tight mini skirt. I learned that this was how she made all her sales. She would really only talk with older men and she was a bad flirt with them all. She gave 3 men her personal phone number after sales. She told me she would never go out with them and that it was just her personal sales style. She was very friendly and the men just ordered stuff from her "from the Quills account" only to get her phone number and possibly more from her later. I was not impressed with her or the way she did her sales and I knew I was not interested in this sort of thing. At lunch we went to Olive Garden, Ashley told me to order whatever I wanted because she would be paying. We both ate well. She tried to tell me about the company but knew very little about it and could not answer my questions. I was sure that this girl was a s**t and would do anything to rip people "men" off. She was like a low class stripper. Well we had lunch and the bill came and it was $48.29 and Ashley couldnt find her wallet and had no way to pay for the lunch. I cosidered sneaking out and now I wish I had. She told me that if I would pay for the lunch she would gladly give me the money back once we got back to the office. She had also made some suggestion of her and I taking a nice long relaxing break in the afternoon. I am not sure what she meant by that. Like a stupid fool I paid for the lunch and we went back out to sell Quills office supplies  door to door. We never did take a break in the afternoon and she made two more sales. When we returned to the office I was sent to a room to wait on my last interview and Ashley said she would be right back with the money for lunch. I have yet to see her again. I have tried to call the "personal number" she gave me but it is no good. I was offered a job but declined and told them about the day and that I wanted the money for lunch and was told that was between Ashley and myself. I am considering a law suit so it anyone has any further info please let me know. I have been unable to find out anything about this Ashley and she was not at work all week. I would warn anyone who thinks about appling to the Merl group to watch out for their bad business dealings.

Unhappy with Merl and Ashley.

Completely False and Inaccurate

#3

Wed, September 16, 2009

The above post submitted by Barry is not only false but completely inaccurate. Mr. (i.e. bulldoggie) did not interview with The Merl Group or Stephen Kordella. Mr. interviewed with PAC Marketing who sub-lets office space and Ms. Painter who represents Quill. Also, in regards to the slanderous statements about our Purdue graduate, Ashley, who is a top sales representative for the company once again his statements are false. Mr. Hendricks and our representative did not go to Olive Garden for lunch and Ashley never agreed to pay for his lunch only her own. Also, we did NOT offer Mr. a position with our company for numerous reasons so it would be essentially impossible that he declined the position. It is unfortunate that Mr. has defamed Ashley, as mentioned she is a recent Purdue graduate and very successful with our company, she has never acted inappropriately in the field or with clients, we only receive positive feedback from all of her clients who are more than happy to work with Ashley and Quill. Statements such as the above from Mr. are false and should be regarded as defamation and we are exploring our legal options against these statements and will not tolerate online defamation by someone who knows little to nothing about our company, Quill or Ashley.
