After filing a report with my local police department about the merchant, an officer contacted the merchant's home and received an irate response from the lady who answered the phone. The officer contacted the local police department for the Sterling Heights area and I was then directed to file a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (at www.ic3.gov/). I did so on January 15, 2008. As of this date, the ICCC home page reads, "The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)." "IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes." This website asks for a lot of information, so the more information the victim enters, the easier it is for the authorities to help. I would suggest this site to anyone who has any fraudulent dealings with this merchant's web "company(ies)," or any other fraudulent internet merchant. I was charged for the product immediately after I purchased it (October 17, 2007). However, only after starting a long paper trail of complaints, and only after I contacted authorities, did I finally receive my product from the merchant - months after I ordered the product. The BBB in Michigan also contacted the merchant, but finally closed the case because the merchant would not respond to my complaint. I am skeptical whether I ever would have received the product I purchased, if I had not contacted the authorities.
