In Oct 2005 my sattelite company had a promotion with their new service for a free vacation. This vacation package was for two nights in one of several destionations.

In November 2005 my husband and I decided on a date, requested off of work, and went to www.mailmethekit.com to book our upcoming Free vacation. I printed off the form filled it out and sent it in with my 50.00 REFUNDABLE deposit.

In the mean time I was give another promotional offer from a different company to the same destination we were requesting from Mini Vacations. This was so exciting we were going to have a wonderful 4 night vacation.

At the end of January I called Mini Vacations ,not on the 1800 number that they gave me because it was always busy, but on the local number that I had to call information to get. I spoke with a very nice lady that asked if I wanted to extend my vacation by listening to a timeshare pitch. I declined and she stated that all of my informations would be mailed to me at least 2 weeks before departure.

Here we are supposed to leave for a much needed vacation on Friday April 4 2006 and guess wath Mini Vacations seems to be no more. Instead of a nice 4 night vacation we are only staying for two because it's to late to cancel the othevacation and receive all of my money back. My $50.00 is gone and I'm just sick about it.

This is an awful company!!! I'm very very very mad!!! I'm contacting the Company that gave me the Mini Vacation Certificate but I doubt they can do anything. I know that my 50.00 probably isn't as much as other people have lost but when you don't have much it is a lot of money.

If there is anything that anyone can do to help or if I can do anything like writing letters, calling people etc... I'm happy to. This is unfair and I want to do all I can to recover my money.

You wrote "my sattelite company had a promotion with their new service for a free vacation." Make a list of everything you see advertised on satellite or cable TV in the next 24 hours. Then see if the advertiser is listed on The Ripoff Report. I think you will see a pattern. Never buy anything advertised on cable or satellite TV.
