I filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division in August of 2005 against Cedar Mountain Construction Inc. located 140 Mulberry Lane Ridgedale,Mo.65739.

My complaint against this company can be found in the Rip Off Reports just type in Cedar Mountain Construction. In brief this company was paid to build a home which they overcharged for the work they actually accomplished. Then they quit working on my home before they completed the home and they never honored the one year warranty. They wouldn't answer any of my request to complete the work or pay retribution for the work they failed to complete.

The complaint fell on deaf hears when it came to the Missouri Attorney General's Office, Jeremiah W.(Jay) Nixon or the Consumer Complaint Division, Complaint Investigator Kimberly D. Slote. The Consumer Complaint Division took no action toward my complaint I don't even think they reveiwed it for at least eight months then all they wanted to do was to close the file and get it off their desk. Now the Missouri Attorney General's Office will not return any of my messages. I guess I made them angry when I gave my opinion about their failures especially the failures of the Complaint Investigator Kimberly D. Slote.

With Consumer Protection like this companys that are unethical in Missouri can fire their attorney because the goverment officials are on their side.

Please send them a letter asking for Consumer Protection to be instated in Missouri.

The amount of my losses on my home amounted to about $22,000.00 but the Attorney General's Office doesn't want to be bothered. Don't take this wrong they did ask the company in question and their attorney about my complaint but when they were lied to they choose to accept the lie. Since they only have one complaint against this company they feel it would be better to file it in case they do it again not that they would do anything about it anyway.

As Info; The Taney County Commissioners Office would not respond and did nothing when I filed a complaint with their office. The Better Business Bureau serving Southwest Missouri of the Greater Ozarks the did nothing about my complaint. The only comment the Better Business Bureau would add to their site about the complaint I filed with their office is that this company came to their attention (not that a complaint was filed against the company) and that the company failed to respond. The Missouri Attorney General's office did very little and accomplished nothing about my complaint. The Taney County Times did not respond. The Missouri board of Realtors failed to respond. The attorneys I hired accomplished nothing, so I discontinued using them. Robert R. Laing, Jr. and Gary W. Allman. The attorney representing the contractor Thomas Motley of Motley and Motley lied in his letter to the Missouri Attorney General's Consumer Complaint Investigator so I filed a complaint against him with the Attorney General and with the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel. Nothing has been done nor do I believe it ever will be handled by either of the above two offices based on previous experience dealing with the Missouri Attorney General's office. I don't trust attorneys and each attorney that I have had any dealings with has given me every reason to feel this way. I don't believe the law is functional anymore.
