Mohawk Carpeting, Installed By Willowbrook Interiors Sold me carpeting with a 15 yr warranty that is defective Coldwater Michigan
Oct, 2002, I purchased Mohawk Kingswood carpeting and upgraded padding with a 15 year warranty for $1674. I notified Willowbrook in 2008 that something was wrong as my carpet had an one inch area where the carpet disappeared . Willowbrook came out and told me that I had spilled Drano or battery acid on the carpet! (I had not done either!) I also wrote Mohawk and told them the problem.
The spot was in front of my couch and not a main traffic area. It continued to worsen and Willowbrook sent out a floor inspector. He was even more ridiculous and said my dog had wet on it. My dog had been dead for three years and no way does a dog have accuracy to pee in a one inch square. I received a letter from Mohawk that blew me off and said my case was closed. I now have several areas where the carpeting is "disappearing" and have no recourse.
I will tell anyone that will listen, file complaints online on any site I can, and tell everyone I know. I have 20 year old carpet in the rest of my house that does not even begin to compare in the defective inferior product that Mohawk produces. I do not understand why Mohawk is allowed to get away with this type of shoddy product. I was sold a bill of goods about how reputable a firm I was dealing with and every thing was guaranteed and warranteed. None of it was worth the paper it was written on but I'll bet I would have had to pay if I had financed it! What a joke.
