MONRO MUFFLER BRAKE RIPOFF INCOMPETENT MECHANICS RUINED MY DASH INSTALLING HEATER COIL WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AVOID Virginia
In December of 2004, I went to Monro to get my heater coil replaced. I should have went to my trusted mechanic but he was out of town. My truck is a pristine 1993 Chevrolet Blaze under 58,000 miles.
The day they worked on it was very cold and they were very busy. Instead of doing a quality job they hastely riped out the dash and cracked my dash board. They did this job so quickly that they did not even to bother to clean the black oil off my leather seats. A certified chevolet mechanic estimated the damage at $1316.37
I called the manger who then gave me a number of the corporate office. The corporate office then submitted this incident to their Insurance agency St Paul Travelers to estimate damage. Travelers then send out Mr. Hildebrand to estimate damage to my truck. Mr. Hildebrand was suppose to meet me before inspecting my truck. This man comes to my apartment, inspects my truck then calls me. After his inspection, my front left turn signal cover has been totally pushed into the frame. The turn signal cover was just fine the day before. After eight years at this location I have never had a problem with people messing with my vehicle.
This week I got a letter from St Pauls Travelers. They said the Monro was not responsible since they did not remove the dash board. They are refusing to pay on this claim.
My advice is to avoid Monro at all cost. They will not backup their bad work. Fortuantly, I have witnesses as to the condition of this truck before it went to Monro. To make matters worse, no one will return my calls. Small claims court? Possible

Resolved. After many telephone calls, I finally reached the right person who helped me settle my claim.
