Mountain Commerce Bank Untrue Loan Claims. Dishonest business. Erwin Tennessee
Mountain Commerce Bank was formerly known as Erwin National Bank. In 1998 I got an auto loan from Erwin National in the amount of $2,500.00. A few months later I got a personal loan for the amount of $1000.00. After paying the personal loan off I got another auto loan in the amount of $900.00.
As of April of 2000 the loans were all paid in full. In 2005 Mountain Commerce bank bought out Erwin National. Last year I received a phone call claiming I owed them money to the amount of $7543.00 for three separate loans. As you can see the totals of the loans I had are not in the same ball park as what they say I owe. They can provide no paper work showing that I owe and will send me nothing when I ask.
They turned it over to a collections agency who now harasses me on a weekly basis. They agree that I have only had three loans with them ever and can't explain why on my credit report it shows the $900.00 loan paid in full under Mountain Commerce bank and then the other three they claim I owe under negative reports on the same credit report under Erwin National. No one there even attempts to be helpful in resolving the situation while I sit with a bad credit report over loans I paid 9 years ago.
I have spoken to several others who have done business with this bank and have experienced similar problems. Please be careful and hang on to any receipts if you have to do business with these people. You never know how long you might need them, I thought 7 years of hanging on to the receipts was enough. Guess I was wrong.
