Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Advertisement on line moveu4less.com and the initial quote handed to us after ocular inspection were deceiving (lacking full disclosure), overpriced (tricky) and anomalous ( full of irregularity). Original quote was for 4,000 lbs. from NV to CA for $1,520.00 plus fuel charges. Arbitrarily changed the last minute, at the time of pick up to $2,850.00 plus upon delivery, additional charge of $150 to deliver our items in our apartment. Lack of full disclosure prior to pick up in spite several requests for final quote but sales person Rina and appraiser Mike avoided to provide them. Purportedly engaged hauling personnel not representing Move4ess at the time of actual delivery and collected extra fees from us. Pressured us to pay PRIOR to services rendered.

Delivery was unfinished, did not clear up the apartment complex with Move4less packaging materials, delayed delivery, wasted too much time and hurriedly left without finishing assembly of furnitures, broke computers, lamps, large painting and elec. fan- packed by them but deliberately unlisted in the bill of lading/inventory list which was signed under pressure on the day of pick up 8/25/08. We hurriedly signed the new contract against our will because we were threatened that they will cancel the move if we don't agree to the new terms.

The furnitures that were not assembled at the time of delivery were part of an extra $250 charges billed with the total amount as previously mentioned, agreed that they will assemble it even if they did not disassemble nor packed them because they are brand new furnitures- which in fact, have been charged and declared to them at the time of loading. Truckers and helpers were incompetent and negligent, not professional at all.

They broke 2 computers rendering them unusable and costed us a lot of money to replace the hardwares. A precious painting was torn/ stripped off, elec. fan and lamps broke and furnitures left unassembled either due to loss of parts at the time of disassembly or due to unwillingness to perform the duties. There was a deliberate act of not listing the items mentioned above in their bill of lading/ inventory list to avoid accountability and responsibility.

We felt we were totally ripped...charged us with the no. of boxes for 800 cu. Ft (actual per contract was only 571 cu.ft.) and not by weight which they originally quoted to us and where we agreed. We were totally shocked by the overcharges at the time of the move!! When asked why the 571 cu.ft. remained the same per original quote, Mike explained on the phone that they are packaging materials and serviceswhich is about $860, more or lessfor just a few boxes and selected items such as TV, 2 computers, 2 paintings, 2 computer desks, stands and lamps.!

These revisions could have been explained to us at least a day before the pick up as we have constantly advised them that we need the final quote and the final contract but Move4less ignored our request..thus, leaving us with no option but to succumb to their tricky ways on the day of the actual move when the contract was hurriedly re-done by Liron, the foreman, and had us sign it under pressure.

This company should be carefully investigated as they can victimize many Nevada residents like us who move within the state or out-of-state because of their anomalous acts. They make contracts which are unilateral and does not carefully explain to the clients prior to contract signing the implications and effects of the fine prints in the said contracts and quotes.

They also hire people who are rude, harassing and unprofessional especially the truckers and haulers.

One Michael Patane III, WHO WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, and uttered profane words, delivered our items, left them outside the building and threatened to ship our items back to Las Vegas if we don't produce CASH to pay for the balance and the extra delivery charges of $150.00 which was not even part of our deal. Initially, we agreed on $2,600.00 but Liron added another $250 for the cost of 2 new furnitures sealed and packed which he promised they will assemble for us, that's why he charged us additional $250 again making our new contract price as $2,850.00 explained when we signed the contract that the $2,850.00 is the final price and no additional amount will be added, emphasized that it is a packaged dealall inclusive.

To get his desire to extort additional $150 from us, delivery guy, Michael III consistently bad-mouthed Abraham, the owner, Rina, the sales agent, saying that they are Israelis and he has nothing to do with them and that he is in no way connected to Move4Less. Further claimed that he was screwed for not being paid by them, so that he should collect from us some money.

Apparently, when I called on Sept. 1st to Mike in their office, I found out that his real name is Michael Pataneand since he has the same name as the rude delivery guy, Micahel Patane III, I asked him why does he have the same name as the delivery guy..and he immediately claimed that he was his son.now, I caught the liar by his own father's mouth!!! We also suspect that they just put in stickers of Move4Less in the trucks that are used bec. we tried to call the no. printed in the trucks but the dispatch supervisor we spoke to did not recognize the name of the company Move4Less and the scheduled trip to us on 8/27/08 in California. A lot of suspicious statements by their truckers and delivery personnel reveal irregularity which are very disgusting...

We moved from a 940 sq.ft. 2 bedroom apt. in Las Vegas to an 805 sq.ft apt. in CA and we disposed of the original heavy items shown to Mike during the ocular inspection as basis of the quote...and our load was lighter...though we packed in about 80 small boxes..they charged us $3,000 for the said move....very shocking!!!! We didn't bring a whole lot as we gave away most of our belongings. When we moved a year and a half ago from IL to NV, we had 3,000 lbs and we brought a lot more big furnitures then - we were only charged $3,600 for moving at 1,700 miles distance 5 days drive. This time, we moved to about 235 miles distance from NV to CA....4 hrs drive..yet we paid more than what we paid for when we moved fr. IL to NV.

Lastly, the insurance coverage they included in our package this time is only .60 per lb. regardless of item broken..no wonder they did not care if they have to break our computers, painting, elec. fan and lamp! I believe that the Claim Adjusting Firm is likewise part of the scam.just like the reported rip off by Don Resee of Portland, Oregon in March 2005- which I read in your website just nowthis company has been in the business of ripping off people in such a long timedon't you think it's about time to have them arrested, put to jail, for blatantly violating federal and state laws in the conduct of their business, which is mainly, surrounded by irregularities? And tell you what.they boast of being a proud member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce!! (I wonder if they are still member of the Better Business Bureau, and if reporting them there would help??) I've read some notes in your website saying that membership with BBB is NOT earnedbut paid!!!

I hope BBB of Las Vegas, NV proves this wrong by doing their mandate and be vigilant against opportunists like Move4Less for the consumers' sake!

I spoke to Abraham a few times, but in the end, he wouldn't speak to me and he just spoke to his mover staff And then after delivery, every time I call their office to demand settlement, they will toss me to their Claims Adjusting Firm- another 3rd party...smells fishy" to me, too! Allegedly, I should file my claim but I am only entitled $0.60 per lb. compensation.. I will not be compensated for the negligence, mishandling, deceit, lack of full disclosure and overcharging. I think this is just part of their show" and make-believe's crap!

A company like Move4Less should never anywhere in the United States...it is a threat to the masses...who will be the next victim? PLEASE ACT IMMEDIATELY AND WARN PEOPLE NOT TO ENGAGE THEIR SERVICES AT ALL...THEY ARE CROOKS...A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!

I am inviting interested authorities and lawyers to help me by investigating this company extensively and demand compensation/ refund of the overcharges caused by their fraudulent acts and the horrible inconvenience they caused us!

Thank you for your assistance.

Upset Customer Attempts To Blackmail Moving Company

#2UPDATE Employee

Wed, September 17, 2008

This report was posted by Ms. Nellie Schwab. Ms. Schwab did not post her name on this report because she is lying and attempting to blackmail our company into paying her for her lies and deceptions. It started when she contacted Move 4 Less about her moving to California. During the inventory process, she continuously said no, that item is not going, so she was given an estimate based on 571 cubic feet. The estimator (Mike) clearly explained to her that packing materials were no included in the price. He also explained that the FREE insurance if for $0.60 per pound per article, and that it was not allot of insurance, but it was free. Mike further explained that she should purchase additional insurance and was given pamphlets to several insurance companies that sell moving insurance. Before leaving, he gave her a copy of Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move, which is published by the United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The pamphlet thoroughly explains all insurances. Rina followed up with several e-mails and phone calls that also explained the same things. On the day of the move, Ms. Schwab told the job supervisor (Leron) what was going, and her new list was 229 cubic feet more then her original list. Leron explained that the extra cubic footage would extra, but at the same price per cubic foot. He also explained that small loose items could not be loaded without being boxed. Ms. Schwab authorized the moving crew to finish packing (so she would not have to), which included extensively more then just a few boxes and selected items. Ms. Schwab signed all the papers before any work was done. By the end of the day, several of the movers complained about Ms. Schwab's foul and abusive attitude, and threatened to walk off her job site. The next day, Ms. Schwab called the office several times demanding a refund, claiming she was never told about packing materials being extra, and that she never signed any paperwork authorizing it (yet we have the signed papers). Furthermore, she was quite adamant about not wanting to pay for the extra cubic feet that she added to the load for her troubles, we should ship them for free. After she was told that the charges would stand, she was very abusive using several profound words, and hung up. On the delivery day, Michael III did charge her $150.00 additional for a long-carry & 3rd floor delivery, meaning the truck had to park about 200 feet from her 3rd floor apartment and the move-in crew had to carry everything up the 3 flights of stairs (by the contract, 1st floor & 75 feet of carry is free, each additional foot is $1.00 per foot & each additional floor is $75.00). While unloading, Mike had to call LAPD to their address due to the verbal abuse that she and her husband were inflicting on the move-in crew. After she was moved in, and the crew rearranged her furnishings several times (she could not make up her mind where she wanted her furniture), she expected them to assemble brand new, never opened, still in the box furniture. Our policy is that we reassemble what we take apart (i.e. beds, table legs, etc.), and she was advised several times that we would not assemble her new furniture. After she called the office, cursing at several customer service reps, the decision was made to call the crew, tell them to collect all their equipment, and leave. The next day, she again called the office threatening that she would file a lawsuit against the company, contact every government agency and file complaints, and post bad reviews online if we did not issue her a full refund. Ms. Schwab, you will not be issued a refund. I apologize for any alleged damage that your shipment sustained. I also encourage you file an insurance claim against the alleged damage. The phone number the claims department is 954-217-3082. Please note that filing a false insurance claim is against the law and that with your past history, a through investigation will be done.
