" Moving Services of America" was a horrible choice! I moved from CA to IL, they picked up my furniture and things June 3rd, expected delivery date was June 22nd, but they didn't deliver until July 10th, charged twice the amount quoted in the
beginning and expensive items were missing!
Sherry was my salesperson, and assured me she's been doing this for a long time, so I felt very comfortable with her after communicating for over a month prior to my move. She quoted me a price that was underbid by $2000. They picked up my things on time, but after pick-up I could not reach the company/ nor did they return calls. I had to phone the automobile carrier, they recommended, to get another number to reach them. Even then, Sherry wasn't able to answer any of my questions: when are my things arriving, how much are we going to owe upon delivery? All these questions seemed impossible for her to answer...she could never get in touch with her boss, etc.
After several weeks of being fed up...we phoned and said we didn't feel comfortable with their company and services. After speaking with her boss she said they could take our things back to their original pick-up. Why....we had already moved!!
We read several horrible reviews after our pick-up and saw that the company was reported on ABC Ch7 as being "Moving Bandits"..this made our stomach weak! ;(
30 days later our furniture arrived, but not without drama. The drivers phoned us Saturday before the delivery saying their truck caught fire on the way. Yeah right....at this point we were IRATE! But they did deliver the next day.
Our things were packed neatly, but while I was unpacking, I kept saying..."It looks like someone went through our things and repacked them..well I was RIGHT. We had several missing items. :(
This was a HORRIBLE experience no one should go through. These companies need to be monitered, and watched more closely. There's another report written on this site about this company. Please read and beware! Moving Services of America has operated as several other Companies. IT looks like in the process of moving me they changed their name again!
