Hey, anyone else had total failure after spending the $150 to start a Mr. Transmission franchise repair shop? I have been in the auto industry most of my working life, the last 12 years in the trans repair end or repairs. I have taken all the Mr Goodwrench classes with flying colors, decided to take that knowledge to my own shop. Ron at Moran Ind. told my how up to date the information stays, tech support anytime you need it, updates on new codes and operating systems. Ron also promised me an accounting system that would allow me to do my own books, he even said that if I do my books correctly, and show a loss for the first 3 years I would get kick backs. He also told me to not report any repairs that were paid for by cash. Well I didn't expect to never make money; I have been struggling just above the red line now for 3 years.

I have had the worst time getting tech support to have accurate information in a timely manor. I does not help to have a car racked for 3 days waiting for answers. The advertising costs are killing me, but they are mandated in my contract to spend 1500 month to advertise "Moran Ind". I need an out, I can't out my family in the poor house... Ron return my calls...

Let's set the record straight

It is time to set the record straight after reading several "rip-off" reports that appear to be from Mr Transmission franchisees. Every one of these reports were written by people from cities or states where mr transmission has never had any locations. We do not, and never have had, locations in burlington maine, idaho, colton vermont, branson missouri, bell california or bates kentucky. We also have never had a location in NJ named the "trans shop", nor have we ever been incorporated in NJ. Folks, these are facts that can be found in our UFOC that is registered with the FTC and with each of the franchise registration States. Either these reports are bogus or a franchisee is writing using a false name and location for confidentiality purposes. If in fact the authors are truly mr transmission franchisees then we urge you to contact us to address any issues or problems you are having. If you are truly in our system then you know who to contact to get assistance, and you know that our staff is totally committed to helping our franchisees succeed. This is certainly not to claim that we have all of the answers all of the time. There are no guarantees when starting a new business. As the franchisor, we do not run the business for you. Our job is to provide you with the tools necessary to allow our franchisees the opportunity to be successful. Our system is a proven business system that has operated successfully for over 40 years. We, at Moran Industries are totally committed to the success of our franchisees. We are in the business of supporting our franchisees, and our business system. Again, if any of the authors are truly franchisees and we are unaware of problems that may exist, please contact us so we can assist with any solutions. PS - our contract does not mandate that our franchisees spend $1500 per month for advertising as one author incorrectly stated. Moran Industries midlothian, IllinoisU.S.A.
