My name is Ted Greene. I realize I am several years late but just ran upon this site. While checking up on Mon.Dew Farms in Onieda Tn. I realized that my ex wife and I may have purchased the same horse that was listed in a previous report.

The report was from a Mr. Don Odom from Morristown Tn. He said he had to return one bomb proof horse because it threw his wife and daughter for no reason resulting in bodily injury. He returned that horse and then obtained a Golden Palamino mare from same farm. That is the horse, Foxy she was called, that I am referring to. My wife was novice rider with little saddle time at all and this was made plain to the Moody's who owned and operated Man Dew Farms. My wife had always dreamed of owning a Palamino horse. We responded to the Moody's add on line about this horse. We made hour and half drive the next day to check it out. The mare was tied to a telephone pole in the yard when we arrived. As we were going over the horse we asked how long they had had the horse. Val turned and looked at Donnie and said " oh, about three months, ain't that about right". I saddled and rode this horse out the drive and back twice. When we turned to come back to the yard on the 2nd trip I felt ,what I thought, was her give and hop up on her left front foot. My wife then rode her just there in the yard and she seemed ok. I thought maybe just the gravel in the drive reason for hop. We bought her and while there Val agreed to help me sell one of my horses.

When we went back to get the mare and deliver my horse for her to sell I also took registration papers for my horse. We took the Foxy home and when my wife tried to ride her she started rearing up on her. Which frightened her very much and she also was rearing with me. My wife located the previous owner on line and called him the next morning. He said Foxy was very bad to rear up and he had tried all he knew to break her from it with no luck. He also told my wife that Foxy had left his farm only last week. Not the three months the Moody's had claimed they had had her.

After about a dozen unanswered phone calls in which we left messages for a return call, Val finally called. She did give us our money back but had to wait a week to get it in mail. When I returned Foxy they were not home. I caught and brought back my horse I had left for her to sell and never did get his registration papers back. Not long after this incident is when they made headlines for animal cruelty and child abuse. Two school teachers. Who would have bought?
