I am sorry your brother had so much trouble with the Judge. Unfortunately he is one of many my step-children have been taken for a ride by the same Judge and Officers. Unfortunately it does not end there, The County DA's Office and all but one current Judge also make there own laws as they go along. This I know from personal experinece. I step on the toes of the Powers that Be and I have been harrassed and stalked by them ever since. But although it has been tried we can not get enough people to get any thing done about their "Good Ol' Boy Network" But you are not alone L Mary

should he be caught speeding and expect to get out of it? He tried, he lost. Oh well. The better advice to give him would be to slow down and acyually obey the laws that ARE posted. This way, there is no second guessing as to whether the judicial system allegedly makes up their own.

Officers are not required to bring those items to court unless the driver requests a hearing and specifically asks for those items to be brought, and even then it may be on the driver to acquire said documents. In most cases those records are available at the police department/city and can be requested. Also, officers are not required to keep a daily log book of all of their stops. Those stops are all logged through a central dispatch system and it's not on the officer to keep track. I see nothing amiss in how the case was handled. You didn't say whether the driver requested a hearing or if this was just the court date listed on the citation. As I stated, officers are not required to bring anything to the general traffic court. Most courts don't even require the officer to appear unless a court date/hearing is requested.
