Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I received an unsolicited phone call from this company, "My Windows Support" yesterday.  The East Indian Accent of the person who called me made it difficult to understand him.  He claimed that he had received a repor that my computer had been invaded by haclers and malware.  I told him my computer was partitioined between Mac and Windows.  He guided me to an area of the computer and asked me to count the "Error" messages, etc.  which came to 14.  He said this was "serious," and indicated that my entire computer was infected/affected...that the hackers could get into my Mac side as well.  I asked him if he was calling to sell me someing.  He said"No," that he was simply calling because he was Windows Support.  He was lying.

I told him early on in the conversation that I could not get online through the Windows side; that I use it infrequently and had only recently used Windows because i was working on an old story I wanted to finish.  He told me he could help me protect both sides.  I asked him to call me back in about a half hour.

He didn't.  Instead he called me this evening during dinner.  I asked him to call back in an hour and a half and he did. I allowed him (Arthur) or one of his cohorts to sign in to my computer through www.support.me/.  Within seconds they determined that they could definitely help me.  It would cost $199 for two years, $249 for three years, and $299 for five years.  I said..."Hey, I thought you weren't going sell me anything!"  He replied that he wasn't selling me anything, just asking me to renew my support because it had "expired."  However, since I couldn't go online from my Windows side, he told me I had to call my internet provider (AT&T) and tell them I can't get online with Windows, then all him back so I could purchase his agreement.  We hung up.

About 15 minutes later I got a call from (I suppose) the original salesman who had referred me to the techy.  He was angry asking me why I had wasted his time.  I kept my temper because I didn't know if I had compromised my security wit hhem or not.  I explained to him nicely that they had called me unsolicited and I had asked originally if they called to sell me something and his or his cohort's answer had been "no."  The guy hung up on me.

It's true I have a lot of error messages, etc. on my Windows side.  Is there some way I can clean this up myself?  I have MacKeeper for my Mac side and I just ran it and cleaned up cache, binaries, etc.  Thanks everybody!
