MyCash.com unasked for loan, not applied for, deposited in bank account Internet
My roommate this morning told me that he'd discovered an $880 loan that was put in his bank account by MyCash.com, and he never applied for it, and has never been to their website. He called the bank and asked to have it sent back, but was told they could not. So he called MyCash and tried to get them to take it back, saying he never applied for it, and they refused. Instead they tried to get his credit card number and his SSN, which I told him NOT to give them under any circumstances.
They were very evasive on the phone and would not take back the loan, so no doubt they plan to screw him on the interest. I've advised him to talk to the bank manager and really press him or her on this matter hard. We have no idea how they got his account number to pull this scam with, unless it was a check he wrote someone that they got hold of or someone handling checks sold it to them along with many others.
At this point there seems no way to get them to take the unasked for loan back, and we don't know what to do. I am certain they plan to really screw him on interest for this, and will not accept the full amount back in a payment, because they wouldn't make any money on it.
This is a flat-out scam on the face of it, and these people are crooks!
