Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
So I finally had some closure with this year and a half long diatribe with National Imaging Systems. Like EVERYONE else listing here I was promised a FREE toner cartridge to check out. Not once was there a mention of having to pay for it. A month after receiving it I received an invoice. I called and they said not to worry, the invoice is just to show the price should I decide to order from them.

Months later I got a call to see how I liked it. Hadn't used it yet. A few more months later they called again and I told them that it was ok but that it left little ink marks on the edges of intermittent pages. The man asked me what the cartridge name said. I thought this was odd but I told him anyway. He claimed it wasn't theirs. This began their web of lies. After speaking to two very nasty, unhelpful people who refused to let me finish a sentence they accused us of stealing their toner. They then changed the original deal stating that the toner was only free once I had sent it back to them, and since I didn't have their toner they could not accept what I did have back, therefore I owed them $250. I spoke to managers, also nasty and unable to allow me to finish a sentence. I was called a liar on MANY occasions. Finally I told them to stop calling or I would get our lawyers involved. Instead I sent off a complaint to the BBB, the California Attorney General's office, and several other government agencies.

Weeks after filing a complaint with the BBB I got a call from NIS again, this time a new person, Joseph called and was very odd. He claimed that they would take the cartridge back since I said that the ink was left on pages so it was defective. I mentioned several times to him that the main issue was that their employees had said that they would NOT accept the cartridge back because they claimed it was not theirs. He refused to speak to that but continued to repeat that he would be sending me return packing clips so I could send it back. I repeated one last time what I had been saying all along and he said that he understood but that I should just send it back. So I did. I then got baraged with calls from them yelling again that I had sent them back a toner that did not belong to them and that I would have to pay them.

This time their deal changed YET AGAIN! This time their claim was that I would pay them the money IF I LIKED the cartridge, that was the deal the whole time, never did they say that it was free, never did they say that it would be free if I sent it back. This time it was only free if the cartridge was defective. I argued that no one in their right mind would accept a cartridge not knowing the price or quality under those terms. They assured me that this is what had been told to me in every phone conversation and that I was a liar. Finally I filed another complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General's office, this time giving them in detail every transaction, every conversation I had with this company.

This started in August of 2007. Last week I got a letter from the AG's office with a rebuttal from NIS. The rebuttal said that they were removing the invoice and our company information from their system soley because they were tired of dealing with me, and that for the amount of lies I spouted in the "book" I wrote to the AGs office they should file a complaint against me.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
