Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In early April of 2010, I responded to a writing job ad placed on craigslist. A few days later I received a phone call from the organization and was asked to submit some writing samples. After submitting them, I was immediately offered the opportunity to write various college term papers, literature reviews, and other assignments and be compensated for the work as well.

I was told that I would not receive payment for 3 weeks. Since I had never sought an opportunity like this before, it seemed acceptable at the time.  For the next 3-4 weeks I was given numerous projects on a daily/weekly basis, I completed them, submitted them, and followed the instructions to the best of my ability. I worked night and day, struggling to meet the given "deadlines".  If I felt I could not meet the deadline, I requested more time. I asked if any changes needed to be made and offered to make them immediately.  Within 3 weeks, I anticipated my first check, when it did not arrive, I contacted Mr. "waymen lam" and he said payment had been sent.  After waiting for a few more days, I contacted his colleague, Mr. Flores, and informed him that I had still not been paid. I was not rude, demanding, or threatening.  Mr. Flores stated apologized and state a cashier's check would be sent out tomorrow.  But payment still has not arrived.

I am ashamed to say that I wasted over a whole month of my life for this organization, and was promised compensation. The approximate amount I have earned is slightly over $2000.00.

I am just a student who was hoping to earn a few dollars utilizing my writing and research skills. I was not looking for a get rich quick scheme, or easy way out, I worked so very hard and received nothing for the time and energy I put into everthing I did.

This is the part that angers me most of all; when I expressed my hesitance to even continue doing the projects after payment had been delayed, I was given the reassurance I needed at the time to even continue.

I wrote to this site because I want this to be exposed, and if I am lucky, maybe  I can obtain some type of justice.  In any case, I do not want this to happen to anyone else. It's a horrible feeling to put yourself out there like that, to work hard, and to receive nothing for it.

Freelance writing job SCAM: NATIONAL WRITER NETWORK, New York

#2Author of original report

Thu, May 27, 2010

In early April of 2010, I submitted my resume in response to a writing job ad that was placed on craigslist.  The headline of the ad read: "Looking for writers who want to hone their writing skills "A few days later I received a phone call from the organization (referred to as "NATIONAL WRITER NETWORK") and was asked to submit samples of my work. After submitting them, I was offered the "job" from Mr. Wayman Lam.

As a student who enjoys writing, I was seeking a position that would not only allow me to strengthen and utilize my research and writing skills, but give me opportunity to earn money as well. Mr. Lam explained to that payment would not be issued for at least 3 weeks, and this seemed acceptable to me at the time.

Between April 10-and May 14, I completed between 30-40 different projects, underwent a tremendous amount of pressure, drank a lot of coffee,  and sacrificed time away from my family while trying to complete projects on time.

I worked hard to meet the necessary criteria for each particular assignment. As a student myself, I struggled to understand a number of concepts and ideas that I had NEVER come across. As a writer, I am highly critical of the work I produce and it is difficult for me to settle for mediocrity. So I worked hard to meet their expectations as well as my own. It seemed worth it at the time.

Mr. Waymen Lam and I communicated via telephone on a daily basis, and while we seemed  to have established a bit of rapport while discussing the details of a particular project, I expressed my hesitance to continue -  since after 3 weeks ( going on 4) I had still NOT been paid.  Mr. Wayman Lam contacted me immediately and assured that I would be compensated, and later provided me with the date the check would be sent.

After waiting for a few more days, I contacted his "colleague", Mr. Alex Flores, and informed him that I had still NOT been paid. I was neither rude, demanding, or threatening.  Mr. Flores  pretended to be completely "unaware" of such a mishap, and apologized "for my worries"  and stated a cashier's check would be sent out tomorrow.  But payment still has not arrived.

I am ashamed to say that I wasted over a whole month of my life on this organization. Work involves putting in our time, our physical and mental energy into something, whether we like it or not, whether someone benefits from it or not, whether or not it is healthy of even good for us,   WE EXPECT TO BE COMPENSATED. Since when did our entitlements become hopeful rewards?

I "earned" roughly over $2500.00 for the work I did, based on the amount I was quoted. While it  is a meager amount of money to moan over, I am disgusted with organizations like these who take advantage of people who simply want to work and expect to be paid for the work that they do.

The internet was NOT designed to rip people off, and although it has become a virtual playground for scammers, cheaters, thieves and pedophiles, at this point, I will do everything I possibly can to EXPOSE them, and possibly prevent another individual, like myself, from walking down the same path.

SO here is the exposure:  The two individuals who "SCAMMED" me were Alex Flores, email: [email protected] and waymen lam ([email protected]).

The organization they are associated with:

I have also filed a  formal complaint with the INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTER ( IC3)which is partnered between the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

I have filed a report with the FTC, the BBB, and other acronyms that exist.

I have also written about my experience on a number of sites devoted  to EXPOSING organizations like these, marketed towards work at home opportunities, and freelance writing opportunities, AND Academic essay services as well, which are quite endless.
