I am extremely unhappy, dissatified and mortified with my moving experience. Today is November 3, 2013 and I still do not have my belongings that were picked up on October 20, 2013.

I was given a quote of $1,083 to move the contents of my apartment from Birmingham, AL to Kennesaw, GA. I agreed to pay half at pick up and the remaining at delivery. During the course of packing I realized that I had more items than I originally thought I had. So I called the moving company multiple times staring on Friday, October 18th until Sunday October 20th. No one answered the phone or returned my calls during this timeframe. I left messages for Ali, the lady that gave me the original quote of $1,083 to move my items as well as the customer service and dispatcher options. Still no one returned my calls.

Three movers from Nationwide Movers, USA arrived at 11:00 am CST on Sunday, October 20, 2013. I immediately ask for a quote to add the additional items so I could determine if it would be cost effective to do so or not. I informed the movers that the maximum i could afford was an extra $300. Shawn the lead mover told me that he would work with me. He instructed the movers to begin packing and loading the items.

In the meantime, the other two movers were told to start moving my items. instead of removing my items and loading them onto the truck they placed everything on the sidewalk until everything was out of my apartment. This is when Shawn told me that the total cost to move me was $2,000 CASH not the $1,383 ($1,083 + $300) that I expected. It is now 5:30pm CST. All of my belongings are sitting outside on the sidewalk and I'm being told that I have to sign a revised quote and they expected to receive half ($1,000 CASH) before my things could be loaded onto the truck and the remaining $1,000 in CASH at delivery.

I was not in a position to negotiate or say no with my items sitting outside. So, I signed the revised quote and gave them the $1,000 in CASH. Because the price exceeded the amount that I had planned and budgeted for I offered to pay the remaining amount with a VISA credit card  for my things to be delivered that evening. Shawn told me they do not take credit cards. I told him that I when I made the reservation I was told that I could pay by credit card, cash or money order. He insisted that I go to Western Union and pull the cash from my credit card. I said no. At that point is when I was told they would not deliver my items until I gave them the balance in CASH.

On Monday, October 21, 2013 I called the office and spoke with Ali and the dispatcher. Someone named Adam from the Gwennet, GA warehouse called me and apologized. During our phone conversation he verbally offered to reduce the balance to $500 and have my things delivered the next day. Today is Sunday, November 3rd and I still do not have my items. I have been given the run around for 14 days and I need help to resolve this moving nightmare.

I filed a stolen property report with the Hoover Alabama police deparmement as well as the Better Business Bureau.
