Found this site after trying to plead with the FTC and then finding nothing on the BBB web site.

I am continually being harassed (by phone) with a message that states "please call 1-877-847-0092" and gives no other information. Every time this ?company? called, I reported the callon the Do Not Call web site of the FTC and today finally called them to ask why they aren't doing anything. That is when I found out that the company was NCO Financial.

Doing a search here, I found tons of complaints against a company with the same name but the phone number is different and was wondering if the company here is the same --- can only compare phone numbers. If anyone can confirm that it is, can you also include a correct mailing address so I can send out that Certified letter that is mentioned here.

I (to my knowledge) have no bad credit -- haven't even owned a credit card in OVER 15 years so cant understand what is going on and could use some help and advice. Many thanks folks.

How to get those blind telephone calls to stop

First dial the number that you get when the robot machine calls. When you finaly get a human on the line do not speak, press the "1" button and hold it down until the person on the other end hangs up, do not "Play a tune" with the buttons. Now does this work? the number you're calling from is read by the answering line, the screaming tone tells the folks that you're annoyed, the person who answers has to deal with this, and the usual "Dealing" is to block your phone number from connecting. Blocked number equals no more calls.

Joe, First of all, the "Do Not Call" list only applies to telemarketers, not to debt collectors. NCO Financial / NCO Group are not only debt collectors, they are JUNK DEBT BUYERS. FYI...The FTC does not do individual enforcement at all. You can file a complaint online for each violation at FTC.gov, and it is the number of complaints that brings FTC enforcement. While on that site, you should read and print out the FDCPA and the FCRA to learn the laws regarding debt collection and credit reporting. Also, FORGET the BBB, they are a corrupt and useless organization, and they have absolutely no power to do anything. They are a FOR PROFIT business who gives positive rating to those who pay the huge "membership" fees. The BBB is not any sort of government agency. Therefore, they cannot help you. You need to send a CEASE COMMUNICATION request as per your rights under the FDCPA. Send it by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. In this letter, clearly dispute the debt and demand that they cease all communications with you. Inform them that any further communications other than a written disposition of the matter will bring FTC complaints and civil lawsuit for damages, and criminal harassment charges. If this does not work, you can pound every fax machine with about 150 copies of your letter each night about an hour after they close. This will use up all paper and toner and fill the memory. They usually go away after this is done. Agency Details NCO Financial Systems, Inc. **** ( Also goes by the name of NCO Portfolio Management) 507 Prudential Rd Horsham, PA 19044-2308 Phone: (215) 441-3000 Fax: (215) 441-3923 Web Address: www.ncogroup.com >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 150 Crosspoint Pkwy CrossPoint Business Park Getzville, NY 14068-1602 Phone: (716) 404-2100 Fax: (716) 404-2120 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Keep in mind that NCO just "sold" to it's CEO, Michael J. Barrist in an effort to clean up and get a fresh start, but it is just a scam and the same operation will continue. This is common among collection agencies when it gets too hot for them with the law on thier heels. The name will change, but that is all.
