All my money is gone from my netspend account. I was depending on this money and I don't know what I am going to do. What if I get evicted? My rent will have to be late since no more money until December 15th. If they don't evict me then I have to pay about $125 in late fees. Which I won't have since I paid all my other bills early.
Let me start by saying my card is in my possession and has never left my possession. My card was not lost or stolen.
I am American born + raised and I don't have any friends or relatives in Malaysia. I have never even been to that place.
Immediately after my Direct Deposit, a stream of 18 separate charges from a company in Malaysia was pending on my account. Apparently it is for telecom services-like phone service, cable and internet for residential customers in that area. The 18 charges were pending when I first called to complain about it.
I was unable to reach a supervisor and put on hold for a very long time under the premise of waiting for one.
I was told many times that a supervisor would call me back. A supervisor never called me back and they let all the charges go from pending to actual charges.
Some of the charges are fees for foreign transactions and that is further proof that it was done in another country.
I googled the name of the company that charged and they are not in the U.S. The name is

They didn't cancel my card or start an investigation but told me to continue to wait for a supervisor who will not be able to give me my money back any time soon.
They said after speaking to a supervisor it would still take another 7 days to file a dispute.
Normally charges have contact information shown on their online banking website but for this company there is no information. Also while viewing it online it shows that they billed to the last 4 digits of my current card. That means they have my card information right now to use as they please. I have been a customer since 2006, so clearly there is no such thing as customer appreciation or loyalty.

I have been told that it will take 2-3 months after I submit an affidavit, a police report (which I didn't even know you could do that for unknown charges-shouldn't netspend do that?) and fax it to them.
I don't live in that country so why would I pay for services in that country. Not only that but it looks like my card was used to pay bills for a lot of people. No one company can charge that many times in one billing cycle for their service, some charges are $57 and a lot are for $35. That makes no sense.
I will cancel all of my accounts on netspend because it's frustrating to get help.
I can't trust that this will not happen again.
I don't feel like they were very helpful since they want me to dispute charges like they are normal charges.
This isn't a dispute, this is hacking, phishing, a cyber attack.
Why do I have to wait for them to work out something with the merchant?
What can the merchant say? They were supposes to immediately contact the merchant and find out the name of the
person who made the charges, how it was made and verify that it wasn't me. They should have credited me immediately and then worked on getting a refund from the merchant in Malaysia. Then the mercha
Also I can't understand how so many charges from another country were allowed to go through.
Didn't it seem strange for my entire account to get wiped out in one day with a ton of foreign charges.
Something that has never happened before since 2006?
For all I know netspend owns that company too and they just decided to take my money together.
I could never imagine something like that before but judging by the awful service I received-who knows?
I need my money to pay bills, Thanksgiving is tomorrow and my entire account was wiped out and left negative.
They want to make me wait 2-3 months while they investigate.
