OK, simply put, NEXTEL IS COMMITTING FRAUD. End of discussion. I hope they go bankrupt. Charging minutes I don't use. Worst off, I have no proof. Someone tell me how are they getting away with this. As a group, please report them.

your over usage of your phone is not companies fault

You cant expect any cell company to continue crediting your account every month because you go over your minutes. If you dont want a high bill then dont go over your alotted minutes. You have two choices CHANGE your plan to give you more minutes or stop talking so much. It is not the companies fault that you cannot monitor your usage, this can be done online and over the phone by a rep or the IVR. Also changing a plan to "beter suite you" as you said IS IN FACT TO BETTER SUITE YOU. $5 to $10/month for a better price plan is better than $0.40/minute for overage in minutes which can easily add up to several hundred. As you said and I quote ("If you ever ask them what would happen if you decline the offer(for a differant price plan), they will tell you they won't credit your account (if they offer to credit your account, which they did for me the first 3 times. But this time they were unwilling to credit my account, but! they gave me a plan that I could not resist) IT'S CALLED BAIT AND SWITCH!! THIS IS ILLEGAL.) END QOUTE, THIS is not BAIT AND SWITCH this is offering you a better plan to fit your usage so you dont have huge bills do to overage of minutes and this woudl even SAVE you money. No company would credit you EVERY month simply because you are not responsible enough to watch your usage.

The more into my research the more I am finding this company to be illegal

I am supporting you.... I am going through a huge battle right now with Nextel. The more into my research the more I am finding this company to be illegal. I have been emailing a representative regarding my situation; and on paper he is so professional, but unwilling to assist. I am experiencing the same exact problem you are. My bill last month was $177.00, and I am being forced to pay it. They are not going to credit my account. The one thing they did was change my plan by giving me bonus minutes and taking $10.00 off my bill because of all the inconvenience the company put me through in regards to unprofessional treatment by the representatives. This service change makes approxametely the 4th change. WARNING!! The Nextel representatives are manipulative when it comes to changing your contract date. They will not credit your account, but to make it convenient for you they will change your plan to "better suite" you. Then! You are stuck with them for another year. If you ever ask them what would happen if you decline the offer, they will tell you they won't credit your account (if they offer to credit your account, which they did for me the first 3 times. But this time they were unwilling to credit my account, but! they gave me a plan that I could not resist) IT'S CALLED BAIT AND SWITCH!! THIS IS ILLEGAL. I am researching to find out who in the Government seat to contact regarding these situations, there are way too many people coming to this site with identical problems and nothing is happening as of yet. Once I find the right source I will be posting it in my thread which is directly under yours. This is just a note to let you know that I am supporting you. Once we all have a lead then let's get on the ban wagon and sign a partition to have this company investigated.
