Nikon Inc is THE WORST company to deal with! The customer service agents, as previously mentioned, are courteous, but do not have a clue as to how to handle issues. I purchased a camera for 999.99 and had nothing but issue after issue with it. The first issue I had was with the display. Nikon admitted this was a design flaw on their part and had me send it in, at my cost, to fix. They did not charge me for the parts or labor, but did keep the camera for nearly two months before returning it.

Upon receipt of this camera I discovered that there was a whole new set of problems. The aperture buttons which allow the camera to change settings, size, times and other key functions, was not functioning. For YEARS I went through hell with this company to get them to address this issue. I finally found a web site, www.fixya.com that had a section of the site dedicated to this particular model. I was SHOCKED to see how many people had so many issues with this camera and the negative service they experienced they have had with Nikon Inc. I was instructed to return the camera to the New York location for repairs, again AT MY EXPENSE. Despite this being a known issue and flaw in design, Nikon refused to repair the camera unless I paid for an additional 150.00 in repairs. I was further insulted when I was offered 20% off this repair. A repair that should have been done for free.

I have spoken with supervisors, Sarah B. (from the Philadelphia location) and Jeff Weirdry (from the NY location). Both of these people refused to provide their superiors contact information. They apologized for their representatives dropping the ball and not following through with the repair process. My camera sat on a shelf for TWO MONTHS despite repeated requests that it be retuned to me. My sincere advice to anyone considering Nikon is to consider the words I have expressed. You have been warned. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me at (((REDACTED))) I intend on filing a small claims suit against the company here in New York.
