North Carolina Furniture Dealer - Russell West - Buy Furniture Direct Companies ripoff scams furniture and furnishings Raleigh North Carolina
Today I saw a Rip-Off Report that was submitted on 6/15/2006 by Susan in Staten Island, NY regarding a NC Furniture dealer and the same thing has happened to me with the exact same company.
On March 27, 2006 I ordered a Chrysallis Pub Table +4 chairs (item # DLSSCL833PTTPT) and 2 additional Chrysallis Side Chairs (item # DLSSCL400CCSC) from Russell West at the NC Furniture Dealer store in Raleigh,NC. for a total of $1,129.00 on my credit card, which has been paid.
I spoke with Russell West several times before placing the order with questions about the furniture. He said that it was a beautiful table and the craftsman was Steve Silver and took alot of pride in his work. He also said it would take 8 to 12 weeks for delivery.
About a week ago I sent an email to [email protected] to check on the status and it was returned "undeliverable".
Today is 12 weeks and I called to check on the delivery. A recorded message instructed me to leave item #'s and someone would call back. No one ever called back and I could no longer find it on the internet.
I then started searching for scams on the internet which led me to the RIP OFF site and the first report I encountered was shocking to see the same company I ordered from and could not get any information.
During my conversation with Russell West at the NC Furniture Dealer store he gave me the impression that the craftsman Steve Silver was local.
Come to find out that it is Steve Silver Company who is located in Forney Texas 75126 and is the original manufacturer and only sells to dealers.
Today I called Steve Silver Company and spoke with a representative and explained what happened. Someone is suppose to call me back tomorrow.
In the meantime, I am out A Pub Table+ 6 chairs +$1129.00

Credit Card has been notified and the amount has been credited. The CC will follow up on the scam. Also the representative from Steve Silver Company called back and confirmed that indeed it is a scam and they are also owed lots of $$$$. Also Russell West was not involved as he was an employee. The one they are after is the owner, Stuart Trauberman, who they believe is out of the country. The representative also said the Attorney Generals Office of the State of North Carolina is looking into it. Steve Silver Company also gave me the name of two reputable local stores in Chicago where I can get my Pub Table+chairs. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I got my money back and will be able to get what I originally wanted from a local reputable place.

I know your credit card company will give you crap about being past 90 days, but you need to force them to remove it. Don't wait any longer. Steve won't be able to help you, since he doesn't have the money. He won't give you a table for free. The longer you delay calling the CC company, the worse it will be on you.
