I have come here as a last resort.  Many people play online games through social networking sites.  On these games are services you can sign up for and in return, get extra points or favors so you can advance in the game and purchase special items or powers.

I signed up at two companies, Gamefly & Blockbuster on July 27th, 2009.  I paid my membership fees to both and in return, I should have immediately received 102 favors from each for a total of 204 favors.

When I didn't receive them, I contacted Gambit, who you file the initial complaint with. I sent them copies of my confirmation emails from both companies showing I signed up for their services and paid my first months membership fees.

That got me no where.

I then sent copies of my bank statement & credit card statement PROVING I signed up and still it got me no where.

I then contacted the company these services go through, Offerpal Media Inc.  They sent me an email asking for proof that I joined these services and then they would manually input my favors (email dated 9/1/09).

I sent them copies of the confirmation emails.  Meanwhile, the offer page on the game got changed and my open complaints disappeared!  Then I get an email from Offerpal Media stating that the i.d. numbers I gave them do not match.  OF COURSE THEY DON'T MATCH!  They CHANGED the entire page the offers were located on!

In this economy, no one can afford to waste money.  I signed up and paid for two services to receive these extra points/favors and did not get them.  In return, I cancelled my service at the end of the 30 days with these companies explaining to them that if I can't get what I should have to begin with, what makes me think these companies won't turn around and do the same?

It's bad business all around.  Until Offerpal Media makes this right, I highly advise that no one sign up for any of these offers through the social networking game sites.  Especially if Offerpal Media or Gambit is connected to it.

Games like Mafia Wars, Bloodlines, Mobsters etc., DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY OFFERS.  There are entire threads dedicated to this problem on the forums for these types of games.  And it's about time someone made this problem public!
