On April 12th, 2011 at the Omni Hotel | Omni Hotels & Resorts on 700 San Jacinto in Downtown Austin I was unjustly harassed by the staff at the hotel.

Approximately 9:45am I went downstairs to the front desk to speak with the people working there regarding the wireless in my room not working.

Upon hearing which room I was staying in, she dismissed herself from the desk and disappeared into the back room.

When she returned, she said the technician would stop by my room.

I then mentioned to her that I had received a message from Hotwire regarding a refund that had been issued to my account.

The clerk, Cori, said everything was fine and Hotwire had taken care of everything.

I shrugged, asked where the gym was and continued onto my room.

Within 5 minutes of returning to my room, there was a knock at the door and a police officer, Officer Clinkscales, along with two members of the hotel staff, April Scott and Robert Gaines, were there to arrest me.

There were many accusations made that I was using a stolen credit card and that I was going to be arrested.

I said that I had just been to the desk to discuss this to which the officer replied, "oh, so you know why we're here."

I was presented with a "guilty until proven innocent" interrogation for the next 45 minutes.

This was a traumatic experience and I would advise all "business class" travelers to avoid the Omni Hotels chain whenever possible.

They do not side with their guests. Their policies side with the big credit card companies.

The irony of the entire situation is they already had a separate credit card on file for incidentals.  This card was used for the room.

There was no need for the police.  There was no need to ruin my trip.

Shame on you Omni Hotels ...very bad form and not a way to act in a 4-star environment.

No dumb ***, the room was paid for through Hotwire, which used a PayPal account for the room. Obviously you work for the Omni...because who would troll these reports other than them. This just further shows how low the Omni will go to pretend they are not a bunch of idiots that don't know anything about running a hotel. They are vindictive and vengeful.

So are you saying that the room was reserved with a stolen credit card?
