Amazing experience. I was given a firm quote. After I made a deposit and my stuff was on it's way, they told me that their weighing of my stuff came to more than was thought, and that upon delivery I would have to pay about 800.00 more than the estimate. Payment needed to be in cash or cashiers check. You know what? I was saved by an honest driver.
I looked online and found that you have a right to request that the truck be weighed in your presence before your items are dropped off and then after the items are dropped off. You will then have an exact weight of the merchandise. I took advantage of this law (it is a law), and we found that I didn't owe what they said. The driver was honest and told me that he had to go by the law, and not what Ori said. So he only took what the original estimate was.
By doing this, I saved about 800.00 dollars. Ori tried to rip me off, and it did not work. I was lucky. You might not be so lucky. It was a very stressful experience. NOTE: After they had my stuff on their truck, they became very hard-nosed and angry!! Ori Van Lines tried to take me for 800.00 over what we agreed on. Only through hours of research and an honest third-party driver was I able to save money!!!
