Phone Pages, Montreal, Quebec, Canada constant phone calls saying they want to register us in their 'directory'--no charge- we reply, 'NO not interested- then the bills start coming- now, 'FINAL NOTICE ON DELINQUENT ACCOUNT'-'unpai$219.82 they threaten to send 'this account' to collection agency 'which may adversely affect our credit rating! we don't HAVE an account- their 'directory' is simply a copy out of an outdated local directory Montreal, Quebec Canada
Countless phone calls touting terrific directory services- we reply, 'no, not interested'--then bills start coming- I believe, tho I'm NOT positive that we got a spate of them last year- (I am verry busy- own and manage a hotel)
anyway now again, they are faxing us for immediate payment ' of this account' we don't HAVE an account with them- why would a business on the West Coast of Canada advertise in a directory from Eastern Canada in the first place?
I did look up their web site thru Google- in fact it's a listing of some business locations in Tofino- several no longer in business, 'our' listing is not of our primary business, but of our restaurant, with an out of date phone number--
running a small business is difficult enough with all the forms, tax remittances, and legitimate bills one deals with- I don't have time or patience to deal with crooks who have the audacity to threaten my credit rating! I imagine these scams are quite successful in that it says, directory' I very nearly wrote a cheque, and was concerned .that somehow a legitimate bill had been overlooked- I'm sure many busy people do the same-
