Jermaine, I don't think that Primerica had much of a problem with your past criminality. They probably saw it as an asset. I'm thinking that you probably wouldn't be able to get the required licenses, and that's an issue with the state, not Primerica. Nonetheless, I'm with you in thinking that they probably knew from the start that you wouldn't be able to do the job. They just wanted your referrals. Truth be told, there's a pretty big silver lining here. Better to waste a few hours than a few hundred hours and a few hundered dollars. Now you can move on knowing that they couldn't exploit you.
