Complaint Review: Producttestpanel.com - Internet

I set up a fake account at producttestpanel.com and went through and took a survey designed to set you up with sales from sponcering companies, but then you get to the program tears You have to choose 2 items from each tear, the first tear is basicly junk that you get in your home mail box, sign up for this for 30 days free trial, pay X cents for 5 DVD, that kind of junk. The Second tear is basicly the same except there are no free offers, your going to pay something, then the final tear is the kicker, you have three things to choose from all requiring a minimum purches of $400-1000. So in the end you end up spending more money than your making off the deal, I didn't go any further but I'm sure they get you some how or another later on.

I suggest you do the same for all good offers, read the terms (it clearly says two from each of three tiers), google the company's name, read forums and reviews and check ripoffreports. No one source tells all. First thing, start a new email account at hotmail or excite or some other free web mail. Do this to avoid their advertising being mixed up in your regular mailbox. It is not spam if you elect to recieve it. The company makes money off advertising, so yes, you do recieve adverts from their sponsors... duh! Second, read the terms and conditions. They are clear and explain that yes, you do have to jump through hoops. Six to be exact. You must try two sponsors from each tier, three tiers total. The first two tiers have pretty cheap offers... buy ink from this store at a discount, buy pet meds here for cheap, try our CD club, one month trial of this pill or that makeup or whatever. You might spend maybe $20 total on shipping/handling on completing the first two tiers (4 total offers) and some more on cheap ink or pet meds. I needed those anyway and didn't mind the discounts. The last tier is more expensive. There are only a handful to chose from... auto loan, 1 yr direct TV satellite, try Vonage, credit card, consolidate loan. Yea, thats a little pricier, but my mom needs satelite anyway and I want to try vonage to reduce my phone bill. Even if I do satelite for a year and pay $40/month its a great deal for a $1000 sony laptop and a $1200 42" samsung flat screen TV with free shipping. Third, the offers do sometimes take time to show up on your progress page. They say it may take up to 90 days. Keep the confirmation email and copies of any reciepts from the companies you try out. They said I could email or fax if something didn't show up. I did contact them on several occasions to ask questions. I did recieve emails back. So far so good. I did ask about having someone else complete an offer and me getting credit for it. They said ok, just so long as we did it through their affiliate link and I use the same email address as I signed up with. They said thats how they track my progress. I will be glad to report once I have completed my last tier and recieved my merchandise.

I started the Producttestpanel.com program after receiving an email re:Free* Sony Vaio Laptop.... ....I read all of the terms, I looked at all of the products required to try..... and determined that for about $65 out of pocket on things I would never have bought...I would try..... ...I did the Rapid Satellite deal since i needed Directv anyway, and I tried a webhost site for $16.95...that i never used or intended to use... ...I signed up for Columbia House DVD...wanted to anyway...and BMG music...made great christmas gifts.... ...bought Petmeds from PETRX which i need to anyway..... and I tried Netscape ISP for 1 month, which i didn't need, but it was free.... Boom....6 points in their program....and I got my laptop TODAY!!!!!! Granted it was hoops I had to jump in to, but I went with my eyes open and followed the program to the letter....it worked. Now, since I have Norton and a Firewall and some other anti-spam stuff anyway on my computer, i didn't worry about getting spamed and have not noticed any increase in the amount that i was getting prior to the offer...so they may sell my info, but I don't see it affecting me. All in all, this is a positive feedback for that someone out there who needs a free computer and is in the same boat that i was...willing to put up with a little hassle to get it..... Cory
