PSE&G is a ver harsh company. They do not care about their customers. PSE&G are ripoffs And u wouldn't even know. PSEG does not charge u for what you used they charge you for what they think you use, sometimes depending on the weather outside. If they come to read

The meter which in my case I have no control over, and no one is there they then estimate.

Not only do they estimate, if u make a late payment they charge us HARDWORKING customers$60-$70. Is that right? In four months my bill made it up to $2,730, how is that possible?I can never get anyone to come read the meter for me to get the right estimate.

Pse&G wants me to pay more than half of the balance and will not even work with me for A $1000 and I have kids. I mentioned to them I have a son that has medical issues,

And needs daily injections which have to be refrigerated. They will not work with me at all.The next reading date they have available is april 9th...

What are me and my family suppose to do now?

Just pay what they say I owe and take food out of my childrens mouth?I am really hurt with how they tried to handle/help my situation.

What should I do...

I had the same problem and currently my bill is a little higher than yours. At first, PSE&G didn't want to hear anything, no solution... I asked for a supervisor and after being put on hold, the rep filled him in on the situation and when he finally got on the phone, he was just as useless and said he couldn't help. I told him in these bad times there MUST be a solution. I told him I relied on this utility for heat and to keep my refridgerator going for my meds! He said there was still nothing they could do except mail me a form for my doctor to fill out and return to them which would prevent the electric from being shut off - which did me no good at the time because they had shut off my electric! I asked to speak to HIS supervisor and I was told there wasn't one! Can you believe that? I said to him... are you trying to tell me you have NO BOSS? He said no, just "corporate" so I asked for their number and he told me he couldn't give it out because it's not a "corporate issue". I said a complaint is definitely something corporate would want to hear about and said nevermind, I would get the number myself and call, then he hung up. I was SO upset and didn't know what to do. I too am having financial problems that are VERY bad and could not afford that type of money. So after looking over my bill... over and over... I spotted a number on the back for the Board of Public Utilities. Oh my god, what a lifesaver they were. I told them what happened and explained my situation, and the meds... The woman took down all the information, called PSE&G and before I knew it, she had them call and THEN they were willing to work with me. I made a payment arrangement where they took the overdue amount, divided it by 12 months, then added it to my average monthly bill. Yes, it was still a high bill, like 500-600 BUT... much better than almost 3000 up front and they turned my electric back on the next day (had I have called earlier in the day it would have been on the same day). DON'T give up, please call the Board of Public Utilities, they DO help... explain everything to them. All these years I never knew they oversee the company or I would've dealt with them in the past for other issues I've had. Also, PSE&G mentioned TWICE that they would send the medical form - it's been 6 weeks now and STILL no form! What is wrong with those people AND their supervisors????? The Board of Public Utilities should have a rep in the local offices to oversee their procedures because they can be downright RUDE with NO COMPASSION to help or even be helpful to give out numbers of where you CAN go for assistance, etc. I wish there was another company I could switch to! Good luck and make sure you call the Utilities people!
