Publishers Clearing House Devious and Deceiptful Port Washington New York
Against my better judgement, I entered the PCH Sweepstakes. Along with the entry form. there were product offiers for various auto accessories, $5 off each. I ordered two, a catch caddy set and an HD visor (later to discover they were available from other merchants at similar or lower prices). It was stated that neither payment nor credit catd information was necessary at that point, which made me somewhat uneasy.
Several days later, I received an email confirmation of my order. The discounts had vanished. Furthermore, there were S & H charges totaling $7.99, never mentioned in the initial offer. At that point, I understood why no payment was mentioned in the initial offer. I PROMPTLY sent off a reply email canceling the order with an explanation. Nonethless, two weeks later, I was notified that the order had shipped. It arrived yesterday, with a bill, nearly triple the initial amount the items had been offiered at.
I am being given the option to pay up or return the items AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I intend to do neither, since I had been duped and I had canceled the order well before it had been shipped. In the meantime, I had ordered the identical items from Amazon, for a lesser price and with free shipping. I am aware of the fact that the total bill from PHC for $29.91 doesn't seem like a whole lot of money, but, nonetheless, they do fool you and should bear the consequences.
