Complaint Review: Rabin Restoration & Remodeling LLC - Indianapolis Indiana

I have been investing in Indianapolis for nearly 3 years now.  I have been a real estate investor for nearly 15 years.  I have never in that time experienced more crooked people than in Indianapolis and Rabin Restoration & Remodeling LLC (Przemk Rabin is the "owner") is no exception.  I have a great deal of experience in construction both in flipping homes, building etc.  We had Rabin Restoration & Remodeling attempt to do 2 of our projects in Indianapolis.  Both projects were a disaster and he completely breached his construction contract with regard to the scope of work that was agreed upon.

 The first project was supposedly completed but after inspection we realized that electrical, plumbing, HVAC (air conditioning was never installed as per contract and the heat unit was faulty) and aesthetic finishes (trim, paint, drywall etc) were all substandard and unacceptable.  When we brought up all of these items after he stated it was "completed" we had much lip service as to it being fixed but it never was.  Open plumbing lines in the house were revealed AFTER we had brought in other contractors to fix the work initially done and had put tenants in the property.  This was originally a top to bottom remodel.  Everything was stripped down to the studs and the home was to receive everything new from plumbing, electrical, systems, drywall, paint, windows.  They never tested the plumbing (though they claimed they pressure tested everything--yeah right) to ensure that it worked.  In fact there was a new water meter delivered and set in the basement that they never hooked up they claim.  My assessment is that they did turn on the water and realized how many issues were present so instead they left the meter unhooked so as to mask all of the issues present.  A month after they had "finished" I asked them to come back and install the $2000 AC system and he refused.  I had hired him to do another job as well simultaneously (he came highly referred if you can believe that).  He walked off of the other job with it being 50% done because he did not know how to build a garage ("licensed contractor" means something VERY different in the state of Indiana so be very careful).  His "drawings" that he submitted to the city for the garage were something I could have drawn in the 2nd grade.  Laughable.  Anyone so retarded that can't simply Google "garage plans" and get a good workable plan has some serious issues. He said that he "left too much money on the table" and underbid the 2nd job and hand no money left to install the AC unit at the first job.  He also claimed he was waiting for draws from other jobs so he could finish mine (I have all of this via text message by the way).  So in effect he was running a construction Ponzi Scheme taking money from new jobs to fund old ones...a game of hot potato I did not want to play with him.  This guy is a 100% crook.  

I sought legal counsel and the attorney literally said that since this guy operates under an LLC there was no use in going after him.  He would simply shut down the LLC, start a new one and continue working as if nothing happened.  Long story short, RUN do not walk if you come across this guy.  He is dishonest, inept and has no business working on houses.  He will claim that he has "tons of happy investors" and "loads of experience".  yeah right...only experience this guy has is doing terrible work, and cashing checks he doesn’t' deserve.  Do NOT under any circumstances work with Rabin Restoration & Remodeling LLC.  Don't be swayed by his "I'm a Polish immigrant who made everything from nothing” story.  Steer well clear of this guy…you’ll be much better off!
