It was not until I heard it from several other people who experienced the same treatment from Race City Resumes that I felt I should report this so-called employment agency, who, by the way, conveniently has no physical address and just recently added a telephone number to their name.

Earlier in the year, I was searching for recruiters to find a job in the administrative, sales or marketing field. I chose Race City Resumes, not because I was only interested in getting a job in the NASCAR industry, as a matter of fact, the attraction to Race City Resumes and the NASCAR industry was initially due to the fact that I reside in Mooresville, NC and the majority of the Race Shops are located in that area. My objective was to work in the same town that I reside.

Kelly Callaway (could be a fictitious name for all I know) was the person who I initially corresponded with (by email) at Race City Resumes. They do not give out much information when you have questions, and I had several. Basically, they tell you to read the ENTIRE website, for, that will give you the information you need. There was no customer service and I had a bad feeling however, I ignored the feeling and paid them $100.00 to put my resume in their database. Well folks, according to them, that is all you get. A resume in a database. No assistance. No correspondence. No feedback. Nothing. As soon as I paid the fee, the Race City Resume email coorespondence ceased. When I emailed Kelly (to gain feedback) she (or he) stated that my resume was inputted in their database and if any race shop was interested they would call me directly. Race City Resumes never even told me what positions they were listing my resume under! When I asked, I did not receive any feedback.

Ironically, I recently heard the same story from an acquaintance and wanted the public to be aware of this scam. I feel that by looking at their cheesy website "what you see is what you get". Folks, do not fall for it! My gut instinct was to not get involved, in hindsight, I should have followed my gut, but I didn't. My bad! Don't let it be yours.
